Heres my Idea for saving the Southern Sportsman Series

    1- No rule changes

2- Race with in 100miles of Orlando , this would include osw, nss, auburndale and lakeland.

3- fascar change there sportsman to sss rules for 2009.

4- No competing races at the above tracks when SSS is racing .

This way the series has four close tracks to draw from , tavel is kept to a minium . Sorry about Columbia and Desoto , those tracks are just too far to travel . What do you all think??

Good points, but what appeals to me about the SSS is the cars racing at different tracks like Desoto, Bronson (hopefully again) and Columbia. I know the cost of fuel makes this difficult but if you make these races the only race that month or at least 4 weeks apart would help. I would also like to see them run a dirt track or two (double points), Ocala, VCS, or Putnam. Just thoughts...

I agree the series rules are pretty good but I wonder if some minor tweaking may help. Would bringing up the total weight, help heavier sportsman cars compete? and mabee there is a way to keep the cost of all bolt on parts (such as carbs, shocks or anything else you could think) of down, while the economy is slow? As for not racing at any track within 100 miles of orlando, I believe LakeCity is the series home track and we have alot of good cars coming from the west coast. I also would like to see fascar sportsman adopt the sss rules but if you went up to 90% of the fascar sportsman they would flip if you told them they had to get rid of thier big motors and ten inch tires. Since I believe sportsman/ super stock type cars are the backbone of every local track, I think it would be neat to have every sportsman represent thier own local track for some kind of team points or bragging rights and it would also give the local fans certain cars to pull for.
