  • Truth about 52 cheating at OSW

All this crap we have heard about us cheating is a joke. We have heard for years that we are cheating. We pulled our motor pulled the pan pulled a rod and piston out. They checked the bore and the stroke, the cam, our intake, put the gauges in our carb, they checked our exhaust, our torque converter, and our heads. The runners on our heads were fine. But the combustion chamber was a 1/2 cc small. We had two blown head gaskets last year, and I guess resurfacing them made them a little small. Obiviously if we were gonna cheat it wouldnt be with 1/2 a cc or even 1 or 2 cc. They've looked at our whole chassis, we don't have spring buckets we have stock ball joints, we've pulled our rear end cover off. Were fast from experience and dedication. Things happen for a reason, when we pulled our pan our oil pump pick up was just about off. It probably would have blew the next time out. We also found six broken or weak valve springs, and two bad lifters. Jacob Warren's gauge also read a 1/2 a cc small on two chambers. They will be fixed by Friday and Carl will re cc them before we put them back on. Who else has been teched that much this year or last year? Were not cheating just FAST. I don't think we should have been dq'd for 1/2 a cc. But at the same time I know the rules are the same for everyone, hats off to tech see you Friday fresher and faster.

Yea sounds good that you are going to get legal again. For the future if you get your heads resurfaced I would tell whoever is doing them that you have a rule of 76cc and the can fix them for you. It just makes sense. Mike

I know some of the GM crate motors have come form GM with chambers that were a few cc's to small. They did not get the valve seat cut deep enough and the valve was taking up space. Good to see someone come on and set the record straight. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Its good to see tech doing their job but more then 1 car needs to be tech'ed. The 52 is fun to watch because he is one of the few that will try to pass on the outside.

It sounds like you owe John Hodge a big THANK YOU and every other super stock has been check just as much as you have but like you said your fast. And when you finish in the top 3 you go to tech or top 5 if they are feeling ambitious. Lee Wagner's car has been check more than you and he has only been there for about half the races. i would even go out on a limb to say that if David Gould wouldn't of sold his car he would have been checked too. Any of the big body montes have been they are easier to set up.

              72cc.

if you're going to presume to give advice don't you think it should be right?

sorry, forgot who i was talking too for a second there. carry on.

amen brother. if i can't drive i want to have something to watch besides a parade.

now if we can just convince Bobby and Gould and Wagner and Simcox to start every race from the back.

Hey Todd are you referring to how like Donnie Williams usually starts in the the back in NSS. LOL. It does seem to make for a much more exciting and enjoyable race when the really fast cars start at the back and then run forward... Where I used to race up North, they used to do reverse starts with the quick guys in back... Let me tell you about interesting then... BUT mind you they also had a "no sandbagger" rule... In other words if they caught you sandbagging you would be in big doodoo....

                ROFLMAO....

I love watching the really fast cars start in the back, BUT ONLY IF, you start the dangerously slow cars behind them.

                    Edm

Hey now... Dangerously slow... Now this is racing and not everyone has the money to build that winning motor and setup so, Let 'em start behind all... Look at the Last week in NSS, I can see the midnight oil burning from my house on a bunch of cars... LOL.. Speaking of midnight oil, I miss burning it myself...

                    Have a great day all..

Edm, would you like to elaborate on who is dangerously slow in Super Stock?

                        Slow times...

Well I hate to open my big mouth up, but I will... There may be drivers that are slow, BUT THEY ARE DRIVERS and they are supporting an industry, a hobby, a livelihood that we all "love" and enjoy... As a driver who loves to go fast, that used to swear at the "slow guy" myself, I have over the years realized one thing... They may not have $5,000 (super stock)to put in an engine to win the race, but They are out there supporting all of us and having fun doing it... Congrats to all of them...

Hell, I am trying to get back in the seat again, and I may be the next "Slow old guy" out there (unless I find a damn good sponsor who wants to win)... But at the least I would be supporting racing and having a damn good time doing it.. For now, I am at the track everyweek spending my money so all our racing compatriots can do what we all love...

                        Have a great day all

Sorry, I knew this would raise some eyebrows AFTER I posted it.
Dangerously Slow= It SHOULD be a common sense and courtesy thing but we all know how that goes in racing.
