I believe it will take a big financial risk to get the track going again. Big purses will draw cars, large fields will draw fans, and promotion draws cars and fans. Even if the revenue to get things going appeared out of the sky, it would take a long time to regenerate things, it won't happen over night.
I don't even know why I took the time to write this, guess I was bored while sitting on the toilet, not much happening here either.

I know this is easier said than done and depends on the situation but in business you have to take risks. If I took over a track (I know you are sick of hearing that phrase) I would take a risk and offer a big payout for a SLM Race. I would pay $10K to win and promote the ever loving hell out of it. I would call a bunch of the Southern Super Series Drivers and all the local guys and get big names there. I would make it 200-250 laps, three segments. I would call the drivers rather than wasting money promoting the race to drivers, I would spend all the promotion on fans. Obviously the situation is Money, if you can't pay for them weekly you can't pay $10K...that being said you can't make money without spending it. I would Imagine you would get that back if you had 28 cars buying 3-5 sets of tires each. Try it once. If you build it they will come. If you go broke then at least you tried. Lets say only 18 cars showed, you would at least get half your money back. I guarantee you pay that kind of money the drivers will show, the fans are another story, you have the get them to come somehow. Promotion is all I can say. Just a thought. I was looking forward to bringing my SLM there and now obviously I won't be and it sucks but what can you do.

FaceBook update:
"UPDATE for SLM : With just starting over, it is too costly to run your division this season for us. We are currently working on dates for you for next season, but won't have them until the end of the year, so PLEASE don't ask when. Once we get rebuilt, we will be able too do more. If a sponsorship comes along, that could change, but as of right now, no (SLM) events in 2013. Sorry, but we have to do it this way to get back on our game."
