TBARA is a "GO" at New Smyrna Speedway
To all of our fine club members, drivers, owners and supporters of TBARA,
I am pleased to announce the return of the TBARA sprints to the high banks of New Smyrna Speedway! We have two race dates in 2013: September 28 and November 23. The track management is enthusiastic about our return, and I know we are too. These agreements are signed, and we have also had informal talks regarding the World Series next February and then races during the season in 2014.
Yes, we are under the microscope and we have to perform at New Smyrna. We have averaged 21 cars over the past year, so let's keep it going and fill the pits at New Smyrna. Both the track and our club will benefit from a great night with lots of cars. Let's dazzle the fans, send them home happy and anxious to buy a ticket for the next time we are in town.
It has taken months to convince the track owner that all of our cars are here to race and not to ride. He is very sensitive to the idea that some cars used to unload and ride around to collect some easy money. That is not what TBARA is about. Even though we don't all go the same speed, let's all make sure to give the race our best effort.
New Smyrna wants to remind us of something regarding our 4 wheelers. They are not allowed on the track surface, or on the pit road. Of course we can cross the track if we are pitted outside, but please don't drive them around the track or on pit road.
Also, there is good news from Orlando Speedworld! They have rescheduled our rained out race for a date in the dry season: December 7, 2013. Of course, they will honor the arm bands from the June event.
This month, Speedworld has switched to Saturday nights, and is opening up with new management.
