I DO appreciate all the hard work that the Fords are putting into the place. And I've seen that electrical mess!
My suggestions that may help a little (and it's not just me that feels this way)

      Start the show on time.
Stop with the long intermissions and silly b.s.'ing. Is this done to increase concession sales? I realize that's a money maker but damn it gets old. Fast.
Drop the green already instead of countless laps under caution!! Turn the damn light off when they're coming out of turn two instead of taking ANOTHER lap under yellow..
For the announcer(not just at Ellisville) We can't hear anything when the cars are coming out of turn four until they're into turn one. Talk when they're on the backstretch! I would be interested in hearing who is driving what, but announce it so I can hear it.

I'm far from an expert, since I've only raced at Ellisville once, but I love that place. Don, the Ford family and everyone there welcomed me and didn't do anything at all to make me feel like an "outsider" (even though I was one). The track itself is just plain awesome and challenging as hell. Both ends of the track and both straights are very different. I've never driven Pocono, but in the short track world Ellisville is as unique. Short front stretch and tight entry to one, easy exit to two. Long, fast, sweeping curved backstretch with wide arc to get into three and then a tight exit to four. A horsepower AND handling track all at the same time. Like Orlando, where HP and turning are equally important, but waaaaaaaaaaaay different. Rome can't be built in a day and they face many challenges up there, but management and competitors alike are pouring their heart and soul into that place trying to do their best. Crowds and car counts are growing week by week. Even though that is happening slowly, they have things headed in the right direction. Food is good and reasonable and beer is downright cheap! Can't go wrong with that! I can't wait to go back up in October for the proposed BIG Sportsman 50 or 75 lapper!

It's all getting better every week. Races started on time the last few weeks and we would have been over earlier last Saturday except it took an hour to get a car from the trees in turn 2.
DAARA put on a great show as usual too.
You can't go to a track once every 6 months and then talk like nothing is getting better, but it is due to hard work by a lot of people. Even entry to the staging area was changed over a month ago due to close calls in turn 4.

Hope to see you up there Scott...

RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

            We are trying

Thanks for all the Positive Comments and even the Negative ones. If we didn't have negative feedback, we wouldn't think anything was wrong. We at Ellisville are proud of what we have, but are trying to make it better. We have progressed through the season with changes, promotions, fan and car count and YES even starting on time. At the beginning of the season, we were advertising a 6:30 start time. That as we found out was totally no going to happen. We have since moved our time back to 8:00 and as Jim said the last two weeks, we were on time. At the beginning of the season, we had a WOPPING 50 people in the stands. There wer people that lived in and around Ellisville Speedway that didn't even know the track was open again. Last week we probably had somewhere around 300 people. That was good to see. It doesn't look like a lot when the seating area will hold a couple thousand, but we will take it. It did take us a while to get the car out of the trees last week, but you have to understand, he was literally up a tree on his side almost 50 yards into the woods. I talked to the driver later on in the evening and he said he had heard we wanted to make a back entrance to the track wand was trying to cut a path for us.

We have had Fan Appreciation Nights, and Pack the Car Nights. We have already run a 50 Lap Sportsman race, a 50 Lap Modified race, a 35 Lap Pure Stock race and a 35 Lap Street Stock race all paying larger than normal purses. We ran a 75 Lap Super Late Model race this past weekend that paid $1800 to win even though we only started 9 cars. On September 7th, we will once again be holding a 35 Lap Pure Stock race that as of now will pay $400 to win but sponsors are being lined up for more. Then on September 21st, we will hold another 35 Lap Street Stock race paying at least $525 to win (maybe more). Coming in October we will be holding another Sportsman race, but not sure at this time the date, how many laps and the purse. This will all be posted on both of our FaceBook pages and our website within the next week or two.

Keep coming back to our track and I guarantee you, you will see changes as long as the Fords have the track and I am the promoter. By the way, Jim is correct, I do not and have not asked for a single dime this year for compensation ( just a free pit admission each week). Just glad to be able to help keep another short track out of the weeds.
