    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dirt racing in New England really doesnt exist in any form as compared to Dirt racing in the NY and PA area. I love a good race no matter the track surface but i will also admit i like quality fields with recognizeable drivers and teams.

I have attended dirt tracks up and down the east coast but must admit living in New England i am not up to extended travels as i was in my younger days. The general region we have around here is mainly pavement exclusive and the few dirt tracks that exist really are a mirror image of success, quality and management of show as all the pavement tracks in the region.

And the myth that the Bowl was an object of over flowing success before the paving is just that, a myth. I attended there every season for at a minimum of a few events yearly up to the paving and it wasnt proforming any different than other local tracks as it's fan base was dropping and competitor support was failing as well. The facility was by far the best overall in regards to fan friendly as well as track surface compared to other dirt tracks in the area but that reality still did not seem to have any positive effect for its progress to be successful.

Again the survival of short track racing in this area is in trouble and there is not ONE single "promotor"(term used spareingly) going after success as they are ALL simply rideing the ride and dragging thier facilities as well as the sport with them.

Swaping ad's on radio or print(who really reads a paper anymore) or putting tid bits on thier own web site is not promoteing, not even close.

Granted the economy is tough but far too many use that as a crutch and excuse rather than a spring board to thinking and working out of the self mentally rationalized minature box that is getting short track racing nowhere.

The generation of sucessful promotors has been lost through other than age progression or the loss of thier existance through mortality and the existant generation simply doesnt get it and the proof is in the product and the sports reality in the area.

We need new players. Local track and touring series promotors need a complete and extensive overhaul. Sadly even with much research and observation there seems to be few within the sport with the integrity and foresight to that MAY have the aptitude to have the experience and ability to have a chance at any amount of sucess in an all out effort.

Racing is in trouble and it needs a few good individules to stand up and make a run at it..

The sport has transformed and those in the position of authority need to realize that change is needed for them to survive as bussiness as useaul isnt working.

Dirt or pavemet the same relity exists.

This is national as well and even though dirt seems stronger currently history shows dirt and pavement racing rotate success and failure in different time intervals. Even dirt racing as well as it has been going is now going into the slide nationally and starting to loose footing.

It is obvious that no local track promotor in New England is on the right path nor any of the Touring Series owners in the gereal area so that well to draw from has nothing to offer.

Who within North East motorsports has the tools to get something working?

Racing needs a new era Bob Barhe, Donald Hoaning, Venditti, Harmon, Bill France, Alex Sloan.

With about 95% of all short tracks in the New England Market for sale publically or privately its clear most all of them want out anyway which is a positive thing yet not many with money are ignorant to buy in or have the nessasary abailities or personel to take the chance.

Maybe. Just Maybe that one someone with a chance and fresh insight checks this internet trolling thing out and takes heed that the sport needs them deperately and takes a chance. One can dream i suppose.

In the mean time we all continue to and suffer through mediocre at best entertainment (on a good night) and be told by those running this mess that its great and its better than its ever been.
