Qoute -"Only tailgating suds-sucking chicks in daisy-dukes in cowboy boots were the best attraction."

    I'm thinking about going now.

PS You should've seen Clewiston at first.

      Comparitively, Clewiston is 'state-of-the-art'.......!

NO tow trucks..... just a massive loader (that could pick up a school bus in the bucket), with a chain dangling from the bucket. 10 minutes or longer to seperate 2 cars stuck together....

I swear 75% of the people on here must just love to bitch and complain. It's not just about fancy cars and big lights all the time. It's about having fun and hangin out with friends and such. If you don't like it stay home and watch tv. (Cause that would be so much more fun) good luck to y'all in Melbourne . Keep rocking on!

I went there 1st night back around January...On the way home going past NSS,it was clear to see that there were more people at Melbourne than in the grandstands at NSS,and I think NSS had a special show going...

I'm not bitching, as much as stating a fact. It IS a dump.... they know it, the racers know it, and the fans know it.

Does it look like fun? HELL yeah.

Are the fans having fun? HELL yeah.

But is it nice, well coordinated, or destined to be something better?

              Not really......

It is, what it is. It's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea, but it obviously has more appeal right now than some tracks in Florida that are MUCH nicer, better coordinated, and more potential.

The folks there ARE having fun..... and that counts for a lot...!!!

Well rumor has it that this "dump" sold for just shy of $1,000,000....

well at least during all this bitching I didnt see anything bad said about the flagman! LOL!

the place has been sold! Its rumored that the person that bought it wants to keep it a race track so hopefully he will put the money in it that wasnt going to be invested before by the previous owner who has known since before the first race that he was going to lose it. Makes sense why he never surface the track properly, probably the best "business" decision he ever made. Why spend money for seating, track surface, etc etc. if your gonna loose it anyway.

Lets just hope the new owner has enough left in the bank to do the necessary improvements to make it a "real" race track, where we can pull in real race cars. What was there was plenty fine to get it off the ground but now its time to step up to the bar and put Melbourne back on the map in the racing world.
