  • Citrus County - FUPS 100 - Good Show !!!

Well went to Citrus tonight for the FUPS 100 lapper. Bit different this time as opposed to the Powell 125 of two weeks ago. Daniel Webster won from the 7th starting spot. Mike Bresnahan in the #69 was second and Wayne Anderson drove from 11th to a third place finish. Only three cautions tonight. 22 Late Models started the feature. Tempers flared on a lap 73 caution which involved, Gorham, Grossenbacher, Shelnut and another car which I believe the name may have been Stokes in the #8, (not sure as the announcer was hard to hear at certain times tonight.) Like to hear others opinions about this particular scene. It appeared the #10 deliberately drove into the side of the #8 after re-starting from the caution. Remaining drivers were very unhappy with the driver of the eight and were attempting to get at him in the car. It was hard to see from where I sat so I would like to read more about this from others who were there. . Also does anyone have any news on what happened to the Kurt Jett #9 car at the start of the race. Good race with plenty of action. Dutilly led for about the first thirty five laps after starting from the pole then it was Webster taking the lead with an outside pass. I also believe an atta boy has to go out to Apopka's Kory Abbott for another great run in the legends. He started last and ended up passing Baggette for the win on lap 26 (?) of the 30 lapper. 15 Legends cars in the field. Well once again had a great time at Citrus and am looking forward to the next FUPS Late Model show. This series is shaping up very nicely.

We were there it was a good race.#8 was not good here was hitting all lot of cars. I want to will Wayne did not stay at the three cars on the front of the track like the 69 car and the 33 after the race. He was in the top 3, somebody went to his car then her started it and drove to the pits.

        Last Night

Thank you for the good positive comments on last night's show. To answer some of the questions, the #8 of Eric Stokes got into the #7 of Shelnut getting into turn one, causing a spin collecting Gorham, Stokes, Shelnut & Grossenbacher. When the #10x went to restart and pull away a plug wire had come off and tangled in the throttle causing it to stick and thus hitting Stokes. Shelnut was DQ for getting out of his car and confronting Stokes. As for #9 Kurt Jett, they had had a melt down on the wiring system causing a electrical fire on the pace laps, thus ending his night. Not sure what was up with Anderson leaving victory lane after the race. Once again thanks for the positive remarks and we are back at Citrus this Sat. 8/17 with the sportsman, pro-trucks, & owm, see ya there!

Rick, Thanks so much for the answers to those questions. The series is really shaping up in an exciting way. The FUPS events I have attended have all had something for the fans. The excitement and racing style the drivers are providing will keep bringing more & more fans into the stands. The shows have all been very well run by the staff as well. Thanks again to all who bring this Series into and onto the race track!!! Keep up the GREAT work.....

                Good show at Citrus speedway

It was my first time there. My brother (zerofor) and myself traveled nearly 4 hours, and I get a deep appreciation when drivers like the Bigley's have to bring racecars from Naples. That's a pull!!!

Anyway, enjoyed the races.Dan Webster was on rails. His pass of Jesse Dutilly toward the half-way mark of the race was sweet.Outside pass on a very fast and racy 3/8ths track.

The wreck in turn one with Stokes,Shelnut and Grossenbacher might have been caused by a plug wire on another car,but Stokes beatin' and bangin' I felt didnt help matters...

Congrats to Webster and to Mike Bresnahan,a contributor on the board.2nd place and good job by you Mike.Only drawback was the heat.97 degrees at the start of qualifying and racing.Whooooo it was HOT!!!

Also, congrats to Kory Abbott for his win w/ the legend cars with Dakota Baggette.Another competitve race. Finally,Thanks to the folks at the track.Well run,and other track promoters can learn a thing or three from the management of Citrus co. speedway.
