I see that OSW is closed until a replacement manager is found. I think our $30 should be refunded since it is unlikely the track will open this year. A lot of money was spent to be at the track, and we have nothing to show for it.

          We should thank Ozzy

For all the drivers that are complaining about how much it costs to race every week, you should thank Ozzy. Just look at how much money you are saving now that the track is closed. We have all made our 30 dollars back and then some.

P.S. For those with no sense YES this statement was made in jest. It can also be labeled as sarcasm. Think about it,what is more important,30 dollars or a track to race on?

Hope to see you all racing soon, hang in there.

I think osw had to have so many races in by september to get paid the points. I looked on new smyrna website it says there nascar points final night ends on 9-14-13. I think osw wil get nothing.

If You Don't Want The Fish, Throw it Back!

It's becoming more and more apparent that Ozzy really doesn't care about the "roundy-round" (I hate that term) track. Speedworld website still ANNOUNCING Bob as the NEW MANAGER, no schedule, facebook: not a word for 5 days. Yet, check out the snazzy website for the Drag Strip:

Please Ozzy, if you don't care about the oval, give it back to the Hart's and the Pierce's to run. Was it perfect? No, but at least we had a place to race with people that gave a sh*t. I hate to be negative but man, there's a bunch of us that love this place and to just let it rot is a crime. I'm way over in Port Richey but loved coming over there to race whenever I could. There's so many more of you that live right by there that have kept that place afloat for years and years. You guys all deserve better. My profile pic is from the first time I ever turned a lap there with my Sportsman. That is the best damn little track I think I have ever turned a lap on. I just don't think "finding a manager" is very high on Ozzy's list of priorities. I wanted to run the Sportsman 50 that was supposed to be Labor Day weekend but I am thinking more and more that it is not gonna happen...

Ive seen this happen many times before , Ozzie spent some money leasing the place , fixing it up , bit off more than he can chew, Harts will take it back over(they still own it) reopen the track and come out smelling like roses . Ozzie will lick his wounds and stick with drag racing .

Hmmm... sounds familiar with longtime bar owners. Build it up, sell the business and not the real estate, let it fail, take it back over.

Looks like bars and racetracks have more in common than we figured...
