Yes....As long as you keep the roof line and the "C" pillar as stock as possible. I think "car recognition" is very important.

Hell NO quit saving me money you can't buy a sheet of lexan for the windows for 300$. We can take these cars and run this body from Cali to NY to Fl. plus you can sell a SLM nation wide with this package
I really don't want to throw away all the stuff we have and start over.
They tried this deal at Cordele and drew 6 cars.
                    The money comes and goes.
The trophy we get to keep.

I'm OK with lettin' 'em make fenders doors and qtrs, but keep the ABC nose, tail and roof (or even go with the new Camaro, Mustang, Challenger nose-tail-roof). The dirt wedge noses are UGGGLY and are so sloped they just dump cars as soon as you make contact because they lift the wheels of the car they hit. Those Outlaw teardrop roofs are just gonna cost more money to buy and they will have to buy those curved lexan windows that go with them. Then you will create an aerodynamic "war" and everyone will feel that they have to have the Outlaw LM body made by Finishline fabricating. Like Tom said, you will make the cars unable to compete outside of FUPS and peninsular Florida and isolate the Series and state inward and outward (FUPS is asking this on their facebook page too). FUPS just had the highest car count in the 3 year history of the series at Citrus. If it ain't broke, why fix it???? This is what you will wind up with, not that snazzy Firebird above....

IMO it would be better to keep what we have and phase in something like this...

Changing rules will not solve anything. it will cost money that most of the teams don't have... Now that I got that out...I loved the outlaw bodys but we could not get enough of them after a while and all pro and asa was the place to race. Every one of the good teams went to a stock body and it grew from there.

You would have about half or third in it versus a ABC body. I know what I spent on mine after all the extras (north of $3000!) Most people that would run out of state or a series usually have more than 1 car anyway.

I think this is what racing needs around here. You can't tell the difference between a Sportsman, Pro Late, or Super Late anymore except for the speed and sound. Hell some of the Sportsman are old (and not that old ) or brand new SLM's with a stock front clip. Just a ABC fender, door or a quarter panel is over a $100 each to replace.

You can get 2 fenders or 2 doors or 2 quarter panels out of 3 sheets of aluminum (approx. cost $70.00 a sheet) and have enough left to build the rocker panels and rear filler panel (if used). Initial investment would be the roof and windows and who said you would have to even change them.

You could even sell the ABC bodies to the Pro Lates and Sportsman cars and probably have enough to do the Outlaw bodies. That's what I did when we went to the mandated ABC bodies. I sold my old Monte Carlo body to a Sportsman for $400!

Yea I would lose out to a extent since I have all the templates, mock up windows and the roof locating fixture (and no that was not part of the $3000). That was extra for my car. But I guess it was worth it because it made it through Ricky Bobby's house of Gloom and Doom).

These outlaw style cars are run in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. We get north of 20 cars every week.

Hell, run both the ABC and the wedge cars together.

Me, personally..I *love* the outlaw wedge cars. For a "roof", all you need is a simple sheet of Lexan; not no "$300 curved/molded" thing:
