Osw Racing Sat 3rd

I just got off the phone with the track and I was told we are racing this sat night the 3rd and there is no practice on wed night.

Great News but.....

That's great news that they are reopening, but unless somebody calls the track or reads it on here then they have no way of knowing that there will be racing this Saturday night. On the website it still says there will be practice tomorrow and there is no mention of a race this Saturday and there is no schedule (sigh). Anyway, what classes will be running? Gonna be tough to get a crowd and get a car count when no one know what is happening and who is running or what time the pits will open, etc. It's already Tuesday...

Who is going to be running the track. Are they going to put out some sort of press release? Kind of short notice. Like Scott said what classes. Circle track cars aren't like Drag Cars where all you need to do to get ready is a wax job, a little fuel, some air in the tires Charge the battery (if even that) and load it on/in the trailer. Ozzy needs to get out and make some visits to circle track racers and repair shops. That is one of the best things the late Steve Peterson would do when he ran Speed World, during the week. That was "Communication"! And it worked.

I just talked to Bob Watson and he has worked out his differences with Ozzy, so is back trying to get things going... The big hangup right now is getting NASCAR to OK OSW running on Saturdays... that should be ironed out in the next few days... There will be no racing this Saturday... As far as Wednesday practice, Bob was not sure but said he would let me know or you can call the track... Bob admits he's jumped into a pond full of angry alligators but is putting together a list of things that really need to be done to improve the facility and the race program... I hope he can hang in there because he is a great guy and I'm really looking forward to working with him again...

Thanks For Some Info!

Thanks for the insight Dave! Any way us karnacians can lobby NASCAR for the switch to Saturday? If Hart's ok with it really shouldn't be a problem, but you never know. Anyway, whether it's Friday August 30th or Saturday August 31st me and my crew (and our car) will be at Orlando for the Sportsman 50 (if it's still on the schedule). I hope so!

I just talked to OSW. They told me that practice is ON for tonight but there is NO racing Saturday night. He said they are working on the schedule. I know it's been frustrating but we need to continue to support them.

Track just called back and said that the track is getting poured on right now and that it is supose to last a while so they are cancelling tonight .
It sounds like to me they are trying and I commend them on that . We all juet need fo be patiant and let them get a grip on this .
He also said that they are working on the schedule . He said for info to call the track . All I can so is that I called once and they got back with me without me leaving a message then they called back to tell me that they were going to have to cancel tonight because of the rain .

So thank you OSW for trying .
