  • Osw Car Count

Yea, I was just sitting here drinking a beer and changing out my oxygen tank and was reminiscing about the good ole days. I remember Clyde once told me that it takes 2 cars to have a race. Now what I do not understand is that RUSTY wants to possibly cut some divisions due to low car counts? What do you think Clyde would think about that? Clyde had a strong heart for racing and I believe that he would want the racing to continue. RUSTY if you want more cars to show up the one and only sensible solution is to increase the payouts and once people find out about the increase they will come. They will not come for pennies. They state that the economy is in it is extremely hard for people to race for what the payouts are right now. You can say what you want about the money situation (it takes this; it takes that to keep Speedworld going). However one with great intelligence would have to agree with me on this one. Rusty don’t let it get down to one car. Rusty I know you are trying to do your best and I congratulate you for it. I’m trying to put in my two cents here. Well got to run now just spilled my beer in my oxygen panel. Mike

i thought you listened to Clyde? the "two cars to have a race" isn't the only thing he liked to tell people.

besides, Rusty has no control over how much money the track puts to the purse. that's why the only suggestion he's got is that if 25/35 cars show up he'll take money out of his own pocket.

Todd you are trying to analyze things too much. I guess it’s typical for a nerd to do. What I am trying to do here is state the differences between 2 people. It figures that some nerd has to come on here and critique me on this situation. Why don’t you figure out a solution for the problem Mr.Poindexter? Mike

Poindexter.LOL that's funny (no offence Todd).

        Q) What is wrong with carcounts in local racing?

        A) when carcounts were high was when the most expensive car (class) cost $5k to $8k......VS $40k...............it's really simple.

the solutions have already been posted many times ButtBackMike. by many different people. if you read with understanding you'd have noticed that by now.

the problem is that most of them Rusty doesn't have any control over.

one good is example is the other Clyde quote i was referencing. when suggestions where made that maybe Clyde could get more cars by raising purses he would always respond with some variation of "I don't have to pay anything at all. Racers are so stupid they'll run for free". now you know why he'd run two cars on a half mile track and call it race.

and that's the rest of the story.

this fascination with your oxygen tank, are you trying to convince us you're Don Hatcher or something?

Rusty is still waiting to give you your ride. errrr, on the buggy.

              Well heck

I have to agree... Benny you can't work for NASA.. For one Common sense and logic is not something that is usable in Government service.... For one, that would cut costs and speed things up.... And two, only the "pretty people" can work for something so glamorous as NASA....

Oh motor costs.... Please don't remind me... I was thinking about putting a stock 350 in a Super Stock just too get back on the track.... Hell the way this weekends Race at NSS went I might have done well.... ROFLMAO
