If ya don't know,Ray Dunlap is a pit reporter on Speed.He usually works the Truck series in NASCAR as well as the races in ARCA that are shown on the Speed Channel.
Now Ray did a report on Josh Williams,and I'm going to para-phrase what he said.He basically said,"Keep an eye on this young driver,he has a new teammate in Spencer Gallagher,who he helped with the set-up in their race cars last week at Winchester.Spencer was so impressed that they made Josh a teammate,and helped him with sponsorship from Allegiant.
Josh haS been running the 02,unsponsored.He's been running off his dad inheritence,and have been struggling to make ends meet at their race shop in North Carolina.Keep a lookout for this young up and coming driver."
OK,number one I didnt know he was racing on Kevin's inheritence money.
Dunlap made it sound like poor Josh and Kevin are struggling on food stamps and living off scraps and hand-me downs.
Two,I always thoughtb they prepared the cars in Port Charlotte or FTS,not in the Charlotte area.Maybe I'm wrong,and If I am,someone correct me.
Dunlap was suspended earlier this year,from comments he made on the Speed Channel show,"trading Paint".The discussion was about minorities in racing,and Michael Waltrip,who wason the show stated that at least 10 percent of Hispanics were race fans.Dunlap scoffed at Waltrip's statement,then made a prejidutial statement of his own.Now,this statement cannot be found.Speed Channel was quick to remove it.A lot of reporters stated it was racial,so Speed suspended him for one week.
Seems like Ray is good at inappropiate comments...........
