i tried but i give up

After getting poured on going to citrus county last saturday and soaked again heading to a-dale,i gave up and came back to lee county..One note.I was at the old usa speedway in lakeland taking some video at 535 pm.It had been pouring rain there for an hour..I called a-dale to make sure they hadnt cancelled before i drove on over and was told b y the lady who answered the phone it was dry as a bone there and they were still on.It took me 29 minutes to get there to be greeted by the sight of everyone leaving..LIARS! !!! There is no way they cancelled after less than 30 minutes of rain.If so it would be a first in the history of racing.just sayin

Zerofor I've been here since Friday...practice rained out...yesterday started raining at 5 and didn't stop until about 8..the problem here is that lady must not have told you that we were waiting to see what was going to happen...that's part of racing...

Just to clear up the time frame for Aub calling the race.... see my post above..I was sitting in the parking lot (I had already typed that message - just had not sent it yet)... the cars that were seen leaving the property PRIOR to 618 pm were leaving BEFORE the race was called...when we were told it was called. I hit the SEND button and started home... so remember.. cars seen leaving after 618 pm were leaving because the race was called... others left earlier..

i applaud there efforts to run on sunday

Even more so,the fact they had posted prior to saturday that sunday was the rain out date..And its not the first time I've had a track tell me it was dry there and on the drive over i never crossed one inch of dry pavement.That being said for any track listening out there........in the future it would be best on questionable weather days that if someone calls you simply reply "as of this time we are still planning on racing" nuff said.

OSF, I saw you leaving sunday after the races. I was just wondering about your take on sundays events.

HOT as hell... great car counts...(thanks to all the drivers/owners/pit crews/track employees that dealt with the heat to put on a great show)... thanks for the big fat lady that sat between me and the sun (just wish she'd get a little wider in the shoulders)... don't have any idea what the deal was with the two LM's up in turn 3/4... I did hear on the scanner that someone was brake checking someone, but I didn't see it...... I did see Guy run out on the track etc. Also think the flag man did a great job throughout the race, I'm sure he was hot up there as well.
One big suggestion... put a/c in the stands and run every Sun afternoon. OSF

OSF racing on Sun is easy from the keyboard but hard on us old guys.
Its hard to sell tickets to people that are going to get hot wet cold or board..

Don, I'm 68 y/o... and I hate the heat more than most.... I'd rather have a couple inches of good ole snow (Born and raised in MA)... but it's in my blood... if there was another good LM race next Sunday, I'd be there...(hope the fat lady would show up as well)... I understand those that stay home... I'm just unable to. I travel around to about 5 different tracks and since I retired.... I sit around all week waiting for Sat's... hate the rainy season (wish there was a way to schedule rain from Sun - Fri's ONLY... leave Sat's alone...
