Do you think that we could ever get all the trackis in Florida to close in june july and august, and use those three months as our off season? The heat index is close to 100 every day. The rain is out of control as normal. Guys are towing all over the state to race, only to get rained out 50% of the time.

While they don't fear heat/rain, they do seem to fear our brutal winters and thus concede this period to out of state promoters and Orgs. to come in and lease the facilities bringing classes of cars that few Florida based teams can afford to compete with. No wonder the North whipped the South they thought things through.

Easy answer, NO! It's not a bad idea. But just as soon as all, or the majority of tracks closed for the summer, greed rears it's ugly head, one track owner would decide he should re-open since all of the others are closed. And then the others would just have to follow.

What do you do with everyone who complains it being too cold........and THEY WILL COMPLAIN!
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

You can't lump all the tracks into this.......NSS would be foolish to close in the summer......this is when the tourists are at the beach and looking for things to do on a Sat night.......not sure if the track promotes at the hotels and condos but they probably should.......plus, USUALLY the seabreeze prevails and keeps the rain to the west.......now Orlando on the other hand should close from May to September.......then promote to the snowbirds on the east coast and central FLorida to fill the stands.......they won't be as cold as us Floridians.......

In the Winter months, start the shows in the mid-afternoon range. The days are still very warm, and you can get most of the show in before dark. Plus, they would save the expense of the track lighting for the majority of each event.

I'd love a show that started about 3-4 o'clock in the winter months. No reason they HAVE to run at night....
