It rained like crazy on us last night at Citrus County Speedway. I had my stuff locked in the trailer and was making plans that involved pizza and beer. BUT, the storm passed and the track went full speed ahead and dried the surface. They made minor adjustments like allowing only a single practice session and starting later, but the fact is they got their show in when virtually no one in the pits thought it would be possible.
Thanks to Critter and the crew for making the tough decision to move ahead. I know the 21 sprints that made the trip also thank you! I was surprised at how many fans made it. I'm sure it would have been better on a dry day, but I sure hope everything added up ok for the track.
We lost one sprint who went home during the storm...ouch!
There has been some discussion on here lately about tracks throwing in the towel if the weather is less than perfect, but I'm going to tell you that Citrus Co. wanted to race and they DID!
