The bidding war is over for the Punta Gorda I want to thank everyone for the surport that was given to me and all to companies that wanted to be a part of the track with me.

This Morning the Airport board members decided to Take Mr Haase bid instead of mine,

Again just want to say thank you all for the surport you gave me. But it will be your local race track so please DRIVERS, FANS AND BUSINESSES surport the Haase Family for stepping up to the plate also.

Sorry to hear that Gary. The word around is that the bid winner is a land developer from Naples. And doesn't seem to have any background in racing.
Sadly, i think there's a new industrial park or shopping mall on the horizon for Punta Gorda.

I tell you what when the track formerly know as Punta Gorda Speedway reopens it will be interesting to see the car counts between Showtime .. Full Throttle and Punta Gorda .. I hope it makes these promoters raise there purses to try and get cars. Because when the three of them where all open before the car counts where lousy. Also the new owner got a 20 year plus lease. I'm considering building a car again and living in Ft. Myers don't want to pull all the way up to Desoto or Tampa. So that definitely will play a factor in my decision on weather to build or not. Hopefully someone will be able to answer some questions soon..

Gary, I don't know you but I must say that you showed a lot of class in your response to NOT getting the lease to the track.
I think that time will tell that you were given a GIFT by not winning the bid! I say this because in my opinion, $6,000 per month rent plus over $12,000 per year for real estate taxes will be a tough nut to crack. I hope I am wrong.

Jet Ski rental in the lake, and skim boarding in the flooded parking lot, will go good with the flo-rider too. Sounds like a mini Schlitterbahn water park...lol. The airport better start ramping up for all the new air traffic coming in. I would have just liked a race track period.
