  • Dirt is so Good

So if dirt is so much better wher is there car count going.
I rember them having over 100 cars also for a weekly show.
Now i look and the car counts are between 50 and 80.
The paved tracks were in the same place and haven fallen to 40 in some tracks.
Dont think the dirt tracks will do any better for a few years.
We are living in a goverment induced econmy.
When money loosens up people will be able to go and teams can spend some money to race.
    Only time will fix this..
What we race on isent dirt or pavement its MONEY

    Man,compare to the 80s your right,But everything has changed!!LoL
The car counts are healthy and the competive spirit is there.Three tracks In central Fl.Arent follow the leader racing.50 to 80 cars is correct Wayyy better than the OTHER tracks...Sometimes I think the OTHER tracks are Dragracing on a Oval..

Where are they going you ask? It only takes a little research to see that since PCS and VSP reopened they are more spread out.

East Bay had 30 Late Models for a weekly show this week. Other than Governors Cup & Snowball Derby, that number probably won't be reached at any asphalt track this year.

Overall the health of MOST dirt tracks is better than it is at MOST asphalt tracks.

It's just too expensive to run pavement week in and week out.

Can't really speak about other tracks but Eastbay only races 4 classes a night and draws around 70-80 cars a night. 18-20 LM's, 15-18 Street Stocks 15-18 LLM's,15 - 18 V- 8 Warriors ( Pure Stocks), 25-28 4 Cylinder Bombers on average when the classes are scheduled. I know its not as much as in years past but it is still relatively healthy. At least to get there 80 cars a night they don't have to run 9 classes.
