  • Powell Family Memorial Re-scheduled

After some 12 hours of conversations between Citrus County Speedway, Full Throttle Speedway, Auburndale Speedway and the FL United Promoters Series Officials, we have come to an agreement to re-schedule the Powell Family Memorial 125 for Sat. July 27th as to not interfere with each others scheduled SLM races. The three parties spent all day trying to come up with a plan that works for all, this is the beginning of the communication efforts by Citrus, Auburndale and Full Throttle to work with the series going forward for the growth of more FUPS tracks and races for all divisions.

We would ask that all FUPS teams that were at Citrus this past weekend, please support Full Throttle this Sat. for their show. If you need to retrieve your tires & wheels at Citrus please contact the track and make arrangements to pick them up, if you are leaving them, they will be stored inside until you return to Citrus. This move make the next scheduled FUPS SLM & Legends date as Sat. 6/22 at Auburndale Speedway.

I would like to personally thank Mike Reed, Don Critty, Rex Guy, and Mike Chase for continuing to work through this issue until it was resolved.

I like to see cooperation between tracks, but there are 6 other days of the week to wok with, without nearly every track in the state fighting for the same Saturday nights.

When this race originated, it was held on a TUESDAY NIGHT. The pits were full, the stands were full, and the thing I liked most about it was, its an off-night for EVERY racer, fan or official around the state.

It was great to see soooooo many people out there on a Tuesday that can't POSSIBLY make it on a Saturday. There was no other tracks competing, and track personnel are race fans too.

Only in Florida do you have to make a choice to be a helper/employee, or a fan. You can't be both.

This way instead of NO competition, they are competing against 15 other tracks for fans and competitors alike.

EXACTLY my sentiments as well, Jerry.

We drove three hours right after work on a Tuesday night to get to Ocala from Vero Beach. Got there about 7-7:30 and the place was PACKED - for a mid-week show.
