Bringing this back around to OSW, along with all the other short tracks in Florida, can anyone explain how Slinger Speedway can put on a SLM race that pays $9999.99 to win and $999.99 just to start. It's billed as tribute race for Dick Trickle, hence the 99 numbers. That doesn't seem to be possible in Florida so we keep being told.
I'll bet the PR people at Slinger get out of their office and go get sponsors. I'd also be willing to bet that people all over WI. know all about the race, thanks to track PR people who know how to do their jobs. And i'll bet all the info, including the results will be posted in far more than just one place.
The answer to how to fix OSW, and all the other tracks in Florida, is to hire the promoter at Slinger for a couple of days. Have him or her put on a seminar in Florida on how to promote stock car races.

.....all 31 of us KNOW WE ARE ENTERTAINERS FIRST !!!....racers second.

once again, during the week, this place is a cow pasture.

Maybe you guys are taking racing too serious. KISS.....Keep It Simple Stupid.

        Melbourne Motorsports Park.
Last I checked.. Cow pastures are full of poop.. I think someone has some on their shoes...

I'm sure the 5k that was pulled in this weekend will go towards cleaner shoes for the promoter.

From one of your other post, I see you live in Brevard. Show up a week from this Saturday and find out for yourself. It may not be what your use to, but you'll enjoy it.

I agree with you John about the good racing over there in Melbourne MotorSports Park.A lot of side by side racing, beatin and bangin, passing.I'm hoarse from yelling so loud watching my Lincoln win the V8 race.I don't know anything about the insurance and all that stuff but I can't remember the last time I've enjoyed watching a race as much as I did over there.Dash for Cash race had 6 or 7 different leaders...had no idea who was gonna win that race.If they can just get that surface smooth it would make it even better

I agree Matt... We need promotion.. And the best kind is word of mouth... Social media is free.. Good place to start. I say if we all volunteer and take turns we can help
