Ben Kennedy/Mike Fritts Connection Clicks Again!

Ben Kennedy, with crew chief and local racing legend Mike Fritts in his corner, took his second NASCAR K&N Series East win Saturday night at Bowman-Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC...
Usually the winner of most of these races and the Modified events there comes from the first row since passing is almost non-existent, except for "bump and runs." But Ben did it after starting 10th in an anemic 22-car field (guess a lot of the so-called "racers" don't like little old BG). Brett Moffitt led most of the race, but Kennedy got out front and led the final 27 laps.
Typical Bowman Gray race - 150 laps and there were 13 cautions for 62 laps...
Ben also moved up to fourth in points, 8 markers behind current leader Moffitt...

My step son was there, sending me updates. Said it was an excellent race and was very impressed with Kennedy. I had told him on Friday to keep an eye on Ben this weekend, and when he checked into his hotel, found out Ben was in the room right next door. He was pulling for Kennedy, but starting deep in the field didn't see much hope. He charged through the pack, took the lead, and got the win.

Zach now has a new favorite, and Ben Kennedy has a new fan.
