and the dirt revolution continues.....
In order (I think)
Richard Pratt
Mike Bresnahan
David Pollen
Wayne Anderson
and now Kurt Jett
and non late model drivers-Doc Batson, Tommy Roberts, Alan Mccafferty, the Stalnakers, Durbins etc etc (I am sure there are many more)
who's next lol ?Last edited by Speedweeks junkie; 06-03-2008, 04:54 PM.

I was going to say the same thing. I think we're seeing the wave of the future here. The chances of making a buck driving dirt late models is a heck of a lot better than pavement super late models, especially with the rules instability.www.FloridaSprintCarFans.com - because Florida sprint car racing needs all the help it can get...

Jeff Choquette started on dirt, switched to asphalt, and now running both.
Patrick Williams has spent most of his career on the blacktop, but has recently been running both.
Skip Panell spent a year on the Nascar All-Pro circuit, but has been on dirt the other 20 years or so.
David Hodges has LM's for both surfaces
A few I'd like to see in a Dirt LM...
Justin Drawdy... knows how to stand on the gas
Kenny Adams... wouldn't he be spectacular?
Danny Martin Jr.... adapts quickly to anything he runs
David Steele... better on asphalt, but has spent quite a few laps on dirt
Jay Middleton... if for no other reason, his car would be gorgeous
Dakotah Stephens... has a DLM, but only ran it a few times, and wasn't real impressive yet
A few I'd like to see race again:
Bobby Alexander... won a feature every year for something like 28 years in a row
Donnie Tanner... he's still a badass, up through 2006 anyways. I didn't hear anything about him in '07 or '08
Tuck Trentham... where'd he go anyways?
Buzzie Reutimann... on dirt, he still knows his way around
Wayne Reutimann Sr.... nothing he CAN'T drive. Once saw him win features in a LM, Sprint, Southern Modifed and a top 5 in Thundercars... all on the same night.
Mike Franklin Jr ...was impressive the few times I'd seen him on dirt
Sam Rodriguez... was great in a Sprint, and I bet he could do good in a LM
Dennis Bennett... only seen him at VSP, but he was good
Steve Moran... won races all over North Fla, but disappeared quickly
Dickie Ferry... helps his son Richard now, but would be cool to see him strap in once more
Cecil Eunice... was still running about 2 years ago, but haven't heard anything lately.Last edited by Frasson118; 06-04-2008, 12:15 PM.

Tuck is still doing his well drilling business in the West Volusia area. I ran into him as he was a coach and sponsor on my daughters softball team. He has the bug to get back into it but seemed like he knew he would enjoy it and get sucked in again. He is a great guy and funny as hell. Even though I saw most of his races, I didnt realize how big his trophy collection was until I saw it. He showed me a pic of his yellow 54 that he ran in the NDLMS - I think that was the last car he drove. I didnt know it, but he and Dick Murphy (of former VSP ownership fame) are neighbors.

Would be neat to have a big old timers race like the do every year for the Sprint Cars at Knoxville IA...
Here's a few more good ones from the recent past:
Rance Phillips
Will Cagle (after retiring from NE mods he was hot in the LM's at East Bay and the Fairgrounds)
Tommy Evonosky
Dennis Langston
Dave Dunkin (He was a regular at the Tampa Fair)
John "Sugar Bear" Berg
Larry Moore (Bet he could jump in anything Friday and still win with it)
John Gamble
J.T. Peacock (Nearly unbeatable at the old Deland track)
James Albritton
Rob Underwood...
Man, there have been a lot of great drivers to race around here!!!

A buddy of mine is friends and neighbors of Larry Moore. Word is, that if he gets behind the wheel again, his wife will knock him silly with a rolling pin. He has been crew-chiefing in the ARCA series for the last few years.
A few more for the Old-Timers list:
Teddy Jernigan
Jack Nosbish
Wayne Overstreet
Bobby Dixon
Brian Van Sickle
Terry Mock
Jimmy Lee Capps
Steve Shuman
Greg Ward

My two favorites from childhood are Terry Mock and Homer Williams. Anybody see Homers wreck at Volusia where he hit the end of pitwall and went straight up 30 feet and back down breaking his back? My first exposure to the edge these guys play on.
