  • Orlando's car count offer

Sportsman, Super Stock, or Mini Stock (regular Orlando divison only) who bring in 25 cars for both the heat and feature races on Friday night, their purse will be DOUBLED. If Strictly Stocks can bring in 35 cars for heats and feature, they will receive the regular SUPER STOCK purse.

I'm glad to see that Rusty is trying something to improve the car count, the track certainly needs it. I'll support the effort by getting mine back out there, BUT you know me, I gotta throw my two cents in.

Rusty, wouldn't it be more realistic if you lowered the bar and actually had to pay off a class or two? For example; instead of rewarding a class when it reaches 25 cars (which I think is not possible in many classes), how about using a different formula? What if the mini stocks double their average car count? Minis have a terrible average. What is it, 6 cars? If they double the average field to 12 or more, I suggest doubling their payout.

When racers see that the track comes through and dishes out more money for improved racer support, that class will gain some momentum. As it is, I think the goal of a 25 car field is unrealistic at this time.

    Good luck! See y'all Friday.

For the record: it was time, not money, that has been my problem lately.

It would be nice if every class could bring in 25 cars or more but even the Super Stock numbers are way down. Noticed that they have about half the cars they normally do. We would love to be out there but some weeks it is that we have no money to fix car and trailer or we have no time.

Why is it that almost every Friday night, the classes from Saturday night are running also? Maybe you should let the Friday night regular classes start racing on Saturday night instead of us being forced to run elsewhere that are way too far away.

Just my two cents worth... hey, better keep that for the race car!

      Orlando-Are you kidding?

I couldn't agree more with Boneman. The racers should be insulted by that offer. You would be lucky to get 25 mini's there if you offered $5000 to win. Make a sensible reward for extra cars to show up and build on it from there. Rusty with all due repect, don't insult our intelligence.

I offered this formula to NSS last year... I called it the 10,-20-50 payout.

Pay the normal payout for 9 cars and under, up it 10%(through the field) for 10-14cars, 20% for 15-19 cars and double it for 20 plus cars. Funny thing is that for the track, 19 cars is the best scenario using total payout and pit entries per car formula.
If the tracks would post there payouts for weekly and special events; through the field so there would be no guessing, I think it would improve car counts. Most racers know about where they will finish on average.

Put the onus(sp) on the drivers. But let them know what it is upfront.

        Kudos to Rusty for offering.......

Another suggestion could be the 50/50 pay out. Sell 50/50 tickets, have a big roullette wheel, spin it.....winner of the class selected by the wheel gets half the 50/50 tickets, paid to him in cash, right there in front of his adoring fans and everything. This would augment his regular winnings, not replace it.

The 50/50 girls needs to be at least 18 and wear a bikini top.

Maximum 21. The girls in Bithlo get worn out from 4 kids by the time they hit 22.

                Good Effort...

I have to admit that that is a good effort, But I find it hard that on such a short notice that you would get that great of a turnout.. It would be awesome if you could... I do like some of the other suggestions about offering a different payout for more cars depending upon the class that it is.. Honestly though, classes that don't get paid or get paid via a Hamb. and Soda might have a great increase in car count if something was paid out, Whether it be for just 1st or 1st, 2nd, 3rd... Hey a $100.00 bill is something that most racers would love to have after they spent all of their time and money and effort to get there... have a great night all..

Hmmm... Hoping the car is done soon....

Now I have to ask the question....How can I insult your intelligence??? I have offered to double the purse! Now all I hear is comlaining about payouts and here is the result....EVEN DOUBLING the purse complaints! Yes I put a quota on the car count....this is coming out of my pocket not anyone else's.

Why is this so hard to acheive?

We had 19 Super Stocks for the 50 lapper a few weeks ago with only a few of the cars from NSS appearing.

The mini stocks used to come out of the woodwork, now if you do not pay them Super Late purse they will not come?????? OHHH and somehow are offended. You are Mini Stocks for goodness sake, I remember when this used to be a fun class....Did I have to include Mini's? NO, but I did! Ohhh and before you think I do not like mini stocks...I sponsored one for years and drove 2 hours each way to watch it race every week...so don't go there! Of course this is when they were Mini Stocks and not 4 cyl Super Late Models.

Sportsman have had ..I think 18 here one night.

Stricktly Stocks....this is a no brainer how hard is it to knock some windows out and have fun?

I was trying to prove a point with this program, but somehow another point got proved even stronger ARGHHHHHHHH!

Go ahead and leave the cars on blocks if that is what you want...BUT do not get all mad when the division is cut....ask the Mods! Who will be next? Not a threat but a realistic point!

Sorry, did not mean to insult, just trying to get the cars to come out and play.

Now are we ready to play or just sit on this board and nit pick??

I am ready to play! AND I have faith the one of the divisions WILL pull this off in the next couple of weeks....Color me stupid, but this is what I think

Please note that Rusty DID NOT offer to double the purse for the TBARA Sprints this Friday if they have 25 or more cars (which they probably will)... He'd need a second mortgage!!

Your doing all you can Rusty. I'm only racin' part time myself and the toy(NAPA 15 Chevy) has been parked since Feb. Between the cost of gas and hours being cut at some jobs and lay offs at others.....it's just really hard to make ends meet for everyone. I'm working at Ocala on Friday to have some extra to race at Bronson on Sat. Hope nothing breaks, or its up on blocks for me too. Good Luck Rusty.

Rusty I agree atleast your trying to get the car count up. If know one tries then nothing will ever change.

Hey Rusty - please get back to the Mods about the treaded, hard tires. They are ready to move forward on this.

                              Rusty

Rusty, I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers but it sounds like your not looking ahead any farther than a couple of friday nights. If you are able to get a 25 car count (and I truely hope you do) what happens the next week when the loyal 15-20 show up? As you know not everyone can run every Friday night. My point being, why shouldn't these racers be given an opportunity to run for a little extra purse also? I commend you for your effort but the reality is that with some incentives OSW could probably pull 15-18 cars per class given the state of our economy and being on a Friday night. I know you have said in the past that it would be hard for OSW to compete with the Disneys and Seaworlds on Saturday, but going to the races is a lot less expensive than those places right now. Good luck my friend!
