Actually, there was a marketing expert who used to frequent this board. He is a successful guy who raises millions for his current job, but got run off KARNAC by a few clowns.

You never know who might be hanging around at the other end of the keyboard.

I'm not even sure it requires an expert, although that couldn't hurt. I think it just requires someone talented enough to sell advertising, and a track owner or promoter willing to pay someone a decent salary to go out and bring in advertisers ( marketing partners in NASCAR speak ), talk about the track at various public funtions, take race cars and drivers to schools, stage events that feature race cars ( and of course start one up every now and then during the event ), and station a race car or two at every advertisers' place of business several times a year. And plenty more. A volunteer isn't going to get all that done, and nobody should be expected to do all of that for free while waiting for a maybe commission.
Maybe this is what NSS and other nearly bankrupt tracks think they have already?

            it doesnt require an expert

But it does require someone dedicated and driven enough to giter-done.bill france was not what in todays definition you would call a marketing expert.but he was dedicated to his endeavor and driven to make it succeed.so was john marcum.
