  • Showtime last night

We had 18 sprints, there were 20 mini stocks, 17 Legends and other classes like antiques and busses. Most importantly, the stands were packed! It looked like all the seats were full, the back straight drive-in was full, and there were fans in lawn chairs hanging out in the corners. Nice!

I hope everyone liked the sprints. We had a red flag on lap 25 when a driveshaft exploded, otherwise we went green for the rest of the 40 laps.

Its great to see that track doing well!

No, not me. It was a buddy of mine, Ben Fritz. He is ok, nothing is broken or bleeding, although I am sure he is really sore today. The torque tube disintegrated right next to his ankle.

I would never laugh at his injury, but the way he described it to me did make me crack me up. He said it felt like someone "hit him with a golf club"! Better luck next time bud.

We time trial and invert at Showtime. I timed in 10'th, started 10'th and finished 10'th.

My fault: I drove two terrible laps in qualifying and cost myself a few spots. Then I made a mistake in the race that cost me a few more places. Oh well, it was still a lot of fun. Ya live and learn, right?

Wow, the pres of TBARA running a local "unsanctioned" race...he used to call those guys that ran those races whorzz...
He couldn't get the deal for the club so, who cares...right?

                Leadership!
Who're you talkin' about? Rex? I didn't know he was "President" of the TBARA, and, as far as I know, TBARA *runs* at Showtime.

"Boneman for President, 2016!" <--- My new bumper sticker.

You sure got a lot of angst there, "Ground-meat-pounder".

Buff is doing what he should do, supporting sprint car racing. He knows if there is a strong field of cars it will only help the tbara in the long run. That's what a leader does.

You show a bit of stupidity...
No not Rex...and TBARA does not run at Showtime...
Hmmm....Oh well, I am above thinking of a name to call you...
Yours for me is real cool!

Sorry, when local tracks run unsanctioned and draw cars from a "club" and leave the "club" in the cold that doesn't help the "club". A strong field of cars without a sanctioned event doesn't strengthen the "club". TBARA has few races...

The point was he has caved...Good Luck TBARA!

Why does the track not run the sanction? The run their rules, procedures, etc...

If it's an off night for the club, why not go run somewhere? That's what I thought *racing* - especially *short track racing* was all about. Find a race...go run.

Oh. You can call me "Professor". Everyone else does.

The sad thing is that there are too many "off nights" for TBARA...and all of their guys running for "outlaw" tracks...why have a club?
Rehm's is suffering the same problem with fatboy in Ocala.

DUDE, I can't quite bring myself to call you that!

They run their car rules not their procedures.
