Just saw this on Five Flags/Must See Sprints:

The main contender to crack that mark has to be JoJo Helberg, who set a world record for a half-mile track last May at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway with a blistering mark of 12.669 seconds.

It's Winchester; it's definitely a half-mile. I remember way back when, when Ricky Ott ran a rear-engine, 4WD Supermodified around Winchester under 15 seconds; then, Randy Sweet had that bad-a** "world record" outlaw-style Late Model (full-bodied) car and ran 14 seconds...it had a fuel-injected Sprint 410 under the hood...

VSP was like 12.4 something so, maybe an asphalt record, but the Winged 410's will haul the mail on dirt if the track is just right.
