    It's really funny

It's really funny how many people know how to do everything better than someone else yet they are the guys sitting at a desk banging on a keyboard when they could be out there making their fortunes. They all know how to do it but none of them have the guts to try it.

Look. I will never be a promoter. Do not have the skills for it.

BUT. I do know what a good time is, and the Lightning game is a good time. I dont know there record. Sometimes do not know the rules. Other than a couple players dont know who plays for them.

And I will still go back and spend my hard earned money with them again!!

I have at least learned one thing in life. When someone does something well GO find out what and how they do it. Glean all you can from them and then implement it for yourself.

The Lightning are the BEST show in town PERIOD!

Why would we not in the racing community get our heads out of our collective butts and LEARN SOMETHING NEW is beyond me!

      Everyone here still wants to...

      1. Put the fastest car on the pole because he earned. So what, the fans want to see a show

      2. Have a class of cars that caters to every make and model ever made. 5 cars to a class insane. Fans dont care they want a show

      3. 40 week points series, again insane. Every other "HOBBY" runs short MINI leagues, why, because it creates new interest. Again fans dont care about that. Fans want something to CHEER for that is a big event not some snoozer 40 week season.

      4. Go Karts on a full scale track. LOSER. Fans are bored enough said.

      5. Need I go on...

And just for the record. I have owned a racetrack. It was a 1/24th scale track, 2 tracks 8 lanes each. And while we didn't have fans I had the same problems with the racers.

Only difference I see is the cost of the cars and track.

Guts? Or flat out access to capital?

Heard a couple of stories over the past 10 years of people with guts and money that abandoned projects just due to red tape from the gubberment...

"Old money" controls the real estate and that's the expensive commodity with regards to buying an existing facility.

I would hate to be a track promoter, manager or owner. If you make the fans happy, you piss off the racers. If you make the racers happy, you piss off the fans.

There should be someone on here smart enough to design a computer game similar to sims city and then everyone that is an expert could design their own track and see how sucessful they would be.

Being a promoter doesn't require money there are plenty of track owners who hire promoters to do the job. So all you know it alls go ahead jump in the deep end of the pool. Its easy to do it on this side of the keyboard.

Marketing guys weren't as expensive back then.

That's why many do little to promote, it's just too expensive now.

I get paid very well to do what i do for my company. consulting firms have guys doing the exact same thing for almost double.

Same thing is happening in marketing.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

No complaining, just input from the racers and fans.

You need to have money or experince. With money you can buy a track and learn or if u have the experance you can teach someone with the money to buy a track. I have done both many times and the pool is deep on both ends.
