Richie Evans race!
Well, with only 14 or so cars I expected a snoozer. After 45 minutes of wasted time on intermissions autograph sessions etc, my low expectations were starting to turn into being pissed. After all nss always seems to find a way. Everybody around me seemed to agree with that.
HOWEVER, that was one of the best races I have seen..bar none. Tons of side by side action and passing throughout the field. Burt Myers did a hell of a job holding off pitkat in a car that clearly didn't have the speed. Hossfeld was un beleievably exiciting with his dive bomb passes into turn three. I could go on and on about the CLEAN passes and skill on display. A far cry from the abortion of a show at dis. Hart better push hard to get the show at nss next year. It would be a sellout. Loved everything about that race.
Slms had a great show going UNTIL the officials screwed the call on a restart that effectively gave the race to benjamin. Benjamin wouldn't let nasses lead the field to green and nasse ultimately lim ped a start figuring they would redo it..they didn't and the top ten got basically inverted. Not sure my description is doing it justice..suffice it to say they screwed the pooch and spoiled what was a thrilling race between nasse and benjamin. Again a very clean race.
The track is wide and has tons of room for racing after all the rubber eas laid down this week
If they want to make acase for have the battle at nss next year send them a tape of that modified race.
