It might just have been the pressure of wanting to win the soon to be prestigious K&N Track Apron 100 at Daytona.

I forgot to include the official sponsors in my last post. So it should read..... The Whelen UNOH Battle on the Track Apron.

          Kyle?

In that he is a highly touted, "Drive for Diversity", driver, seems to me that they might want to over ride common rules for ticket sales, lots of empty seats lately, but IMHO, they are possibly potentially making more emptys by condoning that kind of stuff, we try to down play it at the Kart racing level then see it blatently done on National T.V.

Like they say, happens all the time. Seen it a hundred times, at local tracks, sometimes it stick, sometimes it doesn't. Same in Craftsman trucks, Nationwide, Sprint Cup, K&N, Sprints all of them. Whatever it takes to sell tickets. Dare say 1/3 of everyone there when Larson runs again will be there to see if anyone dumps him, and why shouldn't they, there was no penalty, so its a free for all.
He did what he had to do in his mind and NASCAR agrees so how can anyone blame him??

Falk's comments are pretty great: "Look, I’m not a 15-year-old kid anymore," Falk said. "I’m 25 years old and I want to be in this sport for a long time. I can’t get there by acting like a spoiled brat. I had a moment to vent when I walked over to turn 1 and that was it. When you have the cameras on you like this, you need to be a professional. Kids were watching this race, especially on Speed on a Monday night, and they’re looking for someone to look up to."

Combine Falk's personality and constitution with Larson's talent - that would be tough to beat.

Tracks that are one groove breed this sort of activity, Martinsville and on occasion Bristol when they screw with the banking are two that come to mind. No I don't approve the tactic but the need to win for up and comers is quite critical. In Kyle Larson's case though I feel he did himself a disservice as his ticket has been punched unless he makes himself unattractive to sponsors.

I don't have Speed, so I had to watch the replay of the last ten laps. Larson kept taggin' and taggin' Falk. Falk made a clean pass on Larson, but, comin' outta four down for the checkers, Larson got into Falk not once - he got 'im just a wee bit sideways - but *twice* - the second time, he just drove through Falk. It *was* good, hard, short track racing right up until that little move. I thought I'd like the kid, but, if this is the way he "races" to win...I dunno.

Some of y'all say Earnhardt wrecked his way to wins. I am still a diehard Earnhardt fan - have been ever since about '86, when he got Waltrip at Richmond. *However* - if you think about it, he didn't really *wreck* a LOT of people *for a win*. Sure he'd get up under 'em, get 'em sideways, root 'em outta the way, but very rarely did he *crash* anybody, especially to win. Think about it: at that '86 race at Richmond, he wound up takin' hisself out and Kyle Petty went on to win. When he got into Rusty at Talladega, he ended up fourth or so. At Bristol when he "rattled Terry's cage", he ended up second.

LOL...like ol' DW said years ago about race fans..."It don't matter if they cheer for ya, or boo ya, at least they're makin' some kinda noise. It's when they don't make any noise at all that ya gotta worry."

To much hype and no patience in my opinion. Larson cost Ty Dillon the truck title and crashed Cale Gale the truck series. In both incidents he wasn't even on the lead lap or a factor.
