Only 43 Cars

They kept saying that some day it would get to this because of the ecomony. Only 43 cars at Daytona. I heard yesterday during practice there were no cars worried about going home,in this case they should have drawn pills to determine the line up for Thursday's races and skip qualifying. Pill 1 & 2 would set the front row then all odd numbers in race 1 & even numbers in race 2.

45 cars, and I think it's more a product of the new car. Supply of these new cars is very short so I think cars simply weren't available for some of the occasional teams to buy. Plus I doubt some of them backmarker teams can afford to scrap their COT supply and purchase a new fleet.
