The sss series has put lakeland back on the schedule but has said if we do not produce a descent field of cars for the event we will not race. I'm not sure if all sportsman cars know it but they have increased the entire payout since last year to what I believe is the most a sportsman type car can win. If you have a sportsman car bring it out to columbia this weekend and run with the best group of people in racing. We did have 3 or 4 new cars show up at the last race who all said the had a great time and look foward to making it to some more shows. Since we have joined the series we have had more fun racing than ever and I know if we dont bring up car count we could loose the best series out there.
WE'VE MOVED!!!

This is what I run for gears for all Southern Sportsman tracks with a 602
Lakeland 4.11-4.22
Newsmyrna Speedway 4.56-4.71
Columbia Motorsports Park 4.71-4.86
Desoto Super Speedway 5.43-5.67
Orlando Speedworld 5.43-5.67
Citrus County Speedway 6.00-6.14
Auburndale Speedway 6.20-6.33
I haven't been to Charlotte County Speedway but I would think something around 5.43-5.67.
Hope to see everybody at Columbia this weekend, had a real good race there last time. The local cars (07, 44, 77, 72, and others) will make this a very interesting race to watch. The top 10 qualifying inversion will be very important.

I'm confused as to what is being said. If there aren't enough cars, will they not be scheduled again, or are they going to pull the plug on race day? If that's the case, are there provisions for being refunded your pit costs?
Not sure I'd go through all the expense of getting the whole crew in, just to be kicked to the curb. Kind of sounds like a way to get a bunch of people into the pits with no guarantee you will get anything out of it. If there is a short field (and who decides what amount is ENOUGH cars), the people that came to support it will be penalized because of the racers that DIDN'T support it.
Either way, the track can't lose, but the racers could. It wouldn't surprise me a bit.
