Something happened to Lira, and needed a push down pit road.

Back to green, Clouser follows Benjamin on the high side, takes 2nd.

Possible contact with Matt Tifft, Tim Russell winds up in the wall. Getting towed off.

Another correction. After looking it over, Russell has driven away. In the pits, it looks to be a flat left front.

Russell get out of the car.

Sergi thinks something broke, putting him in the wall

              Tifft pits under this caution

              Back to Green on L-72

Closer spins the tires, Cope goes to 2nd.

20 to go, Clouser all over Cope for 2nd. Nasse still 4th, Rogers 5th

15 to go, Kyle Benjamin is taking off

              10 to go...

5 to go, and Clouser, and Cope battle like crazy for 2nd.

2 to go... no change up front

Benjamin WINS, Cope gets 2nd by a 1/2 car length over Clouser. Nasse holds onto 4th, with David Rogers 5th.

ONE LAST THING..... This thread was just my re-typing of Speed51.com and their Trackside Live. THEY did all the work, reporting and typing.... all I did was condense it down to what I could re-post to fans that might not have seen/knew about 51's coverage. I hope I didn't step on any toes, or mis-lead anyone into thinking that I knew what I was talking about...! I wasn't even THERE... but their coverage makes me feel like was.

You did a great job Jerry. I had the unique pleasure of watching the race with Jeff Burton and his son.

Freddie Query won the Pete Orr Sportman Award. He was floored by it. He was Benjamin's crew chief and he called a stellar race. That kid was flawless.

Pretty cool experience there Backrow. the kid is entered for Speedweeks. I wonder if you got any inside info about their plans or equipment.

As for Query, the guy is a PRO all the way around. Great driver in his day, great crew chief now. Only met him once, but it was cool. The morning of the Snowball Derby, a buddy of mine introduced us, and he had put his car on the outside front row, with a guy I'd never heard of... Brian Scott.

Now, he's working with Benjamin, who has a TON of natural talent. This kid WILL go places, as long as family finances can keep him in front of an audience that will notice. He has the talent that owners will PAY to drive their cars, instead of bringing your own check....
