A Stubborn Rumor
I thought this quote from an article by Skip Hunt that I recently read might be of interest to some of you folks:
"I want to end this stubborn rumor right now. HIALEAH SPEEDWAY HAS NOT BEEN SOLD!!! The track has 33 years to run on their lease and plans to use the entire time. The popular one third mile ovasl plays to large crowds every Saturday night and will continue to do so for many years to come. So much for that."
Unfortunately, this article appears in the October 1971 issue of Jim Moffat's Cavalcade of Auto Racing. BTW, it cost me half a buck when I bought it back then.
