There was a huge 37-car wreck on the opening lap of the NASCAR Modified-Sportsman race at Daytona and 24 cars were completely eliminated from competition... The first photo is actually from a few days before when Cam Gagliardi trashed his 1950 Chevy in practice... The second shot shows some of the cars involved in the wreck including Beltsville (MD) Speedway star Jimmy Mairs (#19)... The third photo is what remains of the 1957 Chevy driven by Stan Kross who later flagged at several Florida short tracks including Eau Gallie and Ft. Pierce.
