  • Leaving Bronson Speedway

I am posting this and hoping that it does not bring up any bad comments, but if it does, oh well. I have officially resigned my position as Tech Official at Bronson Speedway and will n o longer have anything to do with the track. If you have any questions concerning rules or tech questions, please call the track.

See you all at some other track this season

The way you wrote this it sounds like you are hoping that people do write bad comments. Why didn't you just write what you really wanted to write?

          Resigned

I wrote it that way because I know how some forums can be and have been toward this race track (not that it matters now). I do know that the Race Director has also resigned. As of now, I have no idea who will be filling these positions. Not sure if either have even been filled yet. We both resigned just yesterday.

It's really sad what has happened to this GREAT little track. Someone who owns a track and commutes from New York every other week and does not trust locals, some who have been coming to and working this track for about 30 years, to advise her on what needs to be done. My way or the hi-way attitude will never work. When asked about when we will have race fuel the answer is 'there's a gas station across the street'. Pump gas for Sportsman and OWM??
Well, I could write pages on these owners without fear of her responding because she does not like message boards or web sites.... relys only on Facebook so she can 'CONTROL' anyone who ask questions that she deems offensive.
Good Luck Bronson.... will stay tuned for changes in attitudes or owners..

RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

Someone will buy the track. It is kinda out there as far as location but did have it's day with full pits and stands and can again. I used to make the 2 hour plus trip one way.......without complaint. and would do it again with the right show in place.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

                Replacement

I understand through a very good source of information that the replacement for the Tech Official, Race Director and the Pit Steward has been found for Bronson Speedway. I do not know of the person and cannot remember his name, but he is going to fill all three positions. Hope he has some good roller skates has some good communications skills and can get along with everyone.
                1. Race Director needs to be in view of the track to make quick and sound decision of what is taking place on the track at all times.
                2. Tech Official needs to know the rules, know what he is looking at on the cars in each division and be available to weight, inspect and tech cars after each race.
                3. Pit Steward needs to be in a position in the pits to call for each division that are due to race and have them in line before they go on the track. He also has to handle any issues that may come about with individuals in the pits.
Not sure if this can realistically be accomplished by one individual.Whomever you are, I say to you. GOOD LUCK

                  Hahaha

Sounds like John Sappricone from desoto speedway has accepted a job at Bronson

                    Replacements

His name is Larry Waller. Guess his wife owns a book store in Newberry and he used to be a helicopter pilot.
