"last ever" at the Orlando Speedworld Drag Strip. "all drag strip equipment for sale"

Why? Is this place not making money? It was packed with cars, mostly rice burners every time I went.

What does this mean for the circle track?

I had read earlier this year that the Drag Strip owner was burned out and not re-signing his lease for next year. I'm guessing he personally owned the equipment, but Hart owns the land.

Kind of sad to see it go, I raced my Monte Carlo there for a few years before turning it into a Super Stock.

The drag strip was there long before the oval track... Opened around 1964-65... Went out with my dad to a "Funny Car" show there in 1965...

Although I have no interest in drag racing, I hope things change. It would just result in fewer central Florida people involved in motorsports. "A rising tide floats all boats"; we are better off with more racing activity, not less.

There will still be drag racing on the property.

Carl has been doing it for 25 plus years and he just wants to retire. Chances it will re open next year.
