Am I the only one that thinks the multiple posts about blah blah blah welcomes blah blah blah tonight for each driver?

They may be trying to bury all the non-racing-related threads...prolly my fault.

sorry....I'll try to keep all the goofy stuff in the comics corner.

what would be the possibility of a Karnac page where the "big name" drivers could sign in about what their plans were for the upcoming weekend?

i mean, we're presupposing that they're going to draw people ( otherwise they wouldn't have a "big name" ) and isn't that what the fans travel to see?

a page devoted to drivers would be a lot more involved ( the only way to make it workable would be to set up an account for each driver so they could edit their own, and only their own info ) than the track page but it might be even more useful to the fans than the page that Karnac has devoted to the tracks.

In reality maybe 1 or 2 in 20 drivers or anyone associated with drivers actually look at racing message boards. I recently saw a near riot at a drivers meeting because a track changed the program for following week and told the drivers instead of printing an addendum to a weekly flier or announcing it at the last drivers meeting they put it on the internet insted. All but a handfull of the drivers said they don't look at (explicit) message boards on the internet! And when the promoror spouted off and said...."well, you should have called the track". A driver said "why, there wasn't sopposed to be any changes!" that's when it got ugly, cars actually loaded and left before the first heat race.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

I'd have to agree with BTM here.

I'm not physically involved with a car anymore but back in the day when I was, we literally spent almost all of our waking hours on it, and under it. We ate, drank and slept (and I mean that literally) that car to keep it up front.

Even if we'd had the internet and message boards at the time, I can't imagine having any time to spend on it.

Just an old racer's .02 worth.

Benny is correct. Most of the drivers I've spoken with don't bother with message boards thanks to all of the BS that's found there, and because they don't have time for it. That said, I think an area where someone associated with the teams could post plans or changes in plans, would be a great idea to try. If it works, then great. If it fails and gets no participation, then at least it was attempted. I would have loved to have been able to promote Jeff Choquette running at Ocala last night, but couldn't because I didn't know until I saw him there.

Dang it! I thought surely we would get more Super Late Models by posting that they were arriving. Where did I go wrong?

But it sure gave the KARNACIAN shut in's somthing to do

And dang it Mike I thought we were starting a trend
