I hope this gets enough press around the state as this could be one huge modified field. I know the events around the snowball draw a ton of cars - hopefully this will have the same effect.

I really like the effort being put forth by the sponsors and the track to make this into the show it can be.

Another question. Will there be any sort of half way break or competition yellow? My car only has a 15 gallon fuel cell (as do most modifieds) and it won't go 100 laps let alone 100 green flag laps.

Brad May ran a 100 lap modified race with a big Boyd motor and it ran out of gas on the cool down lap, he had a 12 gallon tank, and caution laps counted, I don't think a 15 gallon cell will make it if you get many cautions.

Mine uses 9 gallons on a 50 lapper. And it to is a Dennis engine with a BLP carb. This they said was 100 green flag laps. No cautions in a big money race?

                Tires?

Just to clarify f-53 slick or
650 treaded on the right side
450 treaded on the left side
or 650 tires all the way around?

It said in a earlier post as per Voice of NSS "The Open Wheel Modifieds will have a CHOICE for this race to run EITHER the Hoosier F53 8" Slick OR the 8" Cut tire that has been run all year. ALL FOUR TIRES MUST BE SAME, No mixing and matching". And this from Kevyn, "Hey everyone , this is Kevyn #13 mod. To clear up some question about the race , F53 slick is one tire you can use and the 650 tire also". So which is it?

The tires we have run all year are mixed 650 right and 450left so thats why i was asking if the 450's would still be on the left

So I am assuming that this a straight up race with no halfway break for fuel or anything?

We ran the EBR 66 Lap race at Showtime last week and burned 9 1/2 gallons of fuel, and that's with cautions counting too. So I would expect to run out a little after half-way or so because we all know with 25 cars there will be *a few* cautions.

I just would like a definite answer so we can be prepared.
                      Thanks guys!

I am almost as excited about this race as I am the Gov Cup! 5000 seems like a ton in the world of florida modified racing. Hoping for a great field. Wouldnt be surprised to see the SLM guys drag a modified down too.

Any news about potential entries would be cool. I would bet that many out-of-area cars will be coming. Would be nice to research the backgrounds of the racers I'm not familiar with.

This race has the potential to really raise the status of Gov Cup weekend. The Super Lates have seen a steady rise in outside interest, and it would be great to see the same thing happen with the Mods.

Any answer about a half way break? They do it in the Governors Cup now for safety reasons (spilled gas, tire changes, etc.). Don.t know of many modifieds with a fuel cell bigger than 15 gallons let alone a Dry Break for refueling.
