lets see what after events that has happen that people don't remember too much about or don't bother to remember.
WWII - vets are dieding by the 1000's everyday and whatever certain dates that were once thought highley of hardly gets a mention in the news.
Korea War - who and the heck rememebers that and alot of us that look at this board were born around that time.
The Viet Nam War - just plain taboo to talk about.
when someone mentions the "we racing fans in Florida" just remember that is a group that is getting smaller all the time. by the way when did the paying customer have to do the promoting to keep the promoter making money.

Looks like that Larry Rogero was quite a driver with 6 wins. I never saw him run but I do know his son who was an accomplished kart racer and now is grand daughter is following in his footsteps. Anyone see Jim run? I ran across this today and thought I would share. Hope this link thing works.

the tracks are not making anything like they were 10, 20, 30, 40 years ago when I 1st got hook on real stock car racing. For $3.00 on a race night a person could watch full classes and cars not making the feature. Todays tracks are charging the max they can to either get in the grandstand or pits and are having a hard time making ends meets. Drivers are complaining that they sure get or need more money to race. So now it cost 4 times as much to get in the pits or grandstands. Does that mean that the racers/car owners are spending 4 times as much or more now then 40 years ago. ( I will answer that with a yes). If I am correct, then who's fault is that? The racers that want to have the best stuff even in a low budget class. The tracks for not keeping the cost low and protecting the racers from themselves. Could it be the car and engine builders for pushing the high cost products. However, it all comes back to the track owner to make it work and to cut back all the cost they can, but I guess its not enought to draw people in.
