I don't get all the defensiveness on this. It's a FAIR question.

"IF" there are 15 cars, that question has been answered.

Why is it so unreasonable to ask for the answer to "what if NOT" 15....?

well frasson everyone here (except you) has completely missed my point. had 'they' never used the payout as a lure than i never would have brought it up and the thought honestly would never have crossed my mind. but since that is the 'lure' i didn't think i was splitting atoms by asking to see what 'exactly' it is.

and my point about orlando was there were 10 cars there and the drivers decided it. there have been other 50 lap races with low car count and i have never seen or heard of them not paying the advertised purse ever. (again, unless the drivers decided on it) so the statement that 'every' track in state has a minimum car count for big races was 100% completely false.

i seems that i will not get an answer here so i will stay home and continue to try and 'grow some' and just wait until next time... maybe.

The payout for the mod mini race this week end is posted above for 15 or more cars for only a 35 lap race.....

They pay out for 8 or more is as follows

This past weekend we unfortunately only had four cars show up the winner received 175 second 125 third 75 and forth was 50 the four drivers that had come were more than happy and will be back this weekend..

I do not see having a problem reaching 8 or more cars this weekend I’m actually expecting around 12 but I’m really pushing for our 15 so someone can walk out of here with a good pay day.

Now as far as tracks cutting purses every one of them has done it.. It’s not that we want to do this but sometimes it must be done with low car and fan counts. I know its not the drivers fault that we have problem getting fans but we must average a decent car count to keep the fans in the seats. Believe me we would much rather pay the 600 to win with 15 cars then 175 with 4...

the cars and drivers are what make the show and i know this, and with low car counts it is extremely hard to put fans in the seats so we have to take baby steps to get cars back and if we averaged 10 mod minis every weekend and we had an off week and lets say we had 6 we would still pay the 300 to show good faith towards the drivers that had been supporting us.

john that is a bold-faced lie to say that 'every' track has done it. i have raced and/or attended smyrna since 1979 and have never seen a purse cut based on 'fan count' ever. there have been times when drivers for big races have been asked if they wanted to run less laps (usually for the same money) but sometimes for less and 'if' and only 'if' the drivers agreed to it that is what was done. but to say that the advertised purse was not paid based on 'fan' count is ridiculous. i am not here to kiss smyrna's butt, but facts are facts and in 30 years, the advertised purse, even when only two legend cars showed up at orlando last year, was paid in full. i don't recall ever hearing of critter cutting a purse at citrus based on fan count either. can not speak to auburndale or punta gorda but i do know the three that i mentioned.

personally, as long as you tell everyone up front so they can make an informed decision as to where they want to spend their money i don't know that i have a problem with cutting it. but like i said, as long as they all know up front.

thank you for addressing the issue of what will be paid for less than 15 cars. that is appreciated very much.

I hope I don't insult Robert or N.S.,when you make a statement why can't you use your real name first.Lets call a spade a spade If they cut their purse any more you would get paid nothing,Zero.

I think all the tracks should pay what N.S. pays for 10 cars are you kidding me,I will pay that purse every Saturday night if you like and all of the tracks should follow suit.Then you are telling me I am giving my money away,Thanks for pointing this out.

Come on other tracks you would love to pay their purse, am I right or wrong.So before you open you mouth look what others do, here's what they pay and here's what I have payed.Orlando purse is even less on their web site,I hope this clears things up because we try to pay the most we can.

And for the record if you read ALL of my posts I don't work or talk for desoto speedway and said that previously.....I said the best payout in the state.....for this Saturday so far......and if someone has one bigger that I don't know about good luck and enjoy.....now buckwheat you have all the info you need so quit crying .......have a great day

dave41 - jandl. i never bitched about a thing. i asked one queation, what the purse was. and john smyrna's payouts may not be that great but at least they have been posted clearly on their website for years for everyone to read. i would rather know up front i am racing for less than take the chance on racing for nothing 'based on how many fans show up' now that is just laughable.

i am amazed that asking what the payout is can ruffle so many feathers. like frasson said, why all the defensiveness?

hart may not pay the best but he always pays. and from my experiences going back to 1979 he always has. he has nothing to hide and is not afraid to tell everyone up front what the payout is (good or bad). as for the mini stock purse, for just 15 more laps at smyrna the payout is much better further back with no minimum car count.

next time you try to lure people to the track with something try posting exactly what the something is and then there would be nothing to question. i said it before (although you have all clearly overlooked it), had 'they' not started this whole thing by boasting the 'best payout in the state' in the first post it never would have crossed my mind and i wouldn't have thought twice about it. there would have been nothing to question.

i will wipe my 'tears' now and quit my 'finding something to bitch' about (that one still cracks me up)

I think the Pun somes it up quite well. I just don't understand when a track steps up to the plate and tries to have a good payoff there is always someone ready to bitch (just ask a question HA) and try to turn it around. Sportsman class wants a series next year but do not support weekly shows, what makes you think these tracks will book it? Support your local tracks or soon there will be very few left.

The Sportsman class supported Citrus with 20 cars. 3 were at Desoto.

Coincidence....? Or are racers making a statement about who and where they will support.
