How many notice the almost unattended Richmond nationwide race last night?

Only part of the front stretch stands open and the people were sparse.

If this keeps up look for changes in Nascar........the big payouts will start going down.

The start and park cars are killing it too. They out qualify guys who want to race so they can run one lap and get their check.

The last 3 races i have attended the tracks have already called me this year to get me to come buy a ticket for the next race.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

they did it to themselves. They let the cost of racing go sky high because everyone had big sponsors.
COst to go to the races went higher and higher....so many wanted to be there....
THEN THE CAR OF CRAP came out and they lost many fans
Then the gas went up and the cost of living went up , un employement went up and so did the cost to race and attend....

Time to scale back the cars and cost to race....
Scale back the cost to go to the races.....
Take away all the ground air o stuff and make a driver drive

maybe people will find it interesting again.....SOMEDAY

they could drive me there pay everything for me and I still wouldn't go. Its hard enought to watch it on tv. They are always giving you a D. Patrick report and how she is doing running in the top 30 and when she wrecks herself or someone else, she couldn't help it. But a 18 year old kid upstages everytime he gets a chance to drive. Now she wants to do the Indy 500 again.

I don't think the Nationwide payouts are all that good to begin with. A nationally televised touring series that costs a hundred grand a week to run up front (according to sponsor seeking drivers) should be paying more than 40G's to win. Harvick took home $41,325 last night. In my opinion it's a totally unsustainable model when it costs more than double the winners payout to field a competitive car. The value to sponsors simply is not there for 95% of the drivers. 100,000$ will buy you a fair amount of television advertising, a heck of a lot more than 30 seconds of your logo on a race car over a 2 hour broadcast.
They have got to do something to these cars to bring the costs down because I don't see any way they're going to get the sponsor value up.

They, (Nascrap) have really turned me off with all the Danica hype! Watched a couple minutes of the race last night and that young man, Darrell Wallace should be getting more hype than her! Three starts, three top 10's. That is something to talk about! Oh well, we just used to be fans. Why would they listen to us???? Kind of like the local tracks!

Except for a few truck races when I have friends racing, I seldom even turn on the NASCAR Series. It is no fun anymore and too much a money game and I am just really worn out on it. They need to come back to some of the old days and cut the costs of the cars somehow. I like their safety features which are much better now but it is always the same old, same old when they race. No one wants to waste their money anymore and go to a race especially when they hit you up alot for the ticket and then you have to pay for parking which is crazy too.

Maybe when they start having alot of empty seats, they will ask themselves what is wrong?? And maybe if they have half a brain, they will figure it out.

I have always loved when Dave Marcus drove and was his own team, just him. Now everyone has teams and just a few one owner cars and most of the time they don't even have a chance and they should. Just like Sprint Cup drivers racing in the trucks and Nationwide series, not fair. That should be the proving ground for the rookie racers only. But they do what they want to do and no one can change that except not go.

In a word BORING!!! I usually watch until Reutiman goes a lap down, then change channels and hope I flip back for the last 5 or 10 laps. Kind of like basketball the 1st 2 minutes and the last 2 minutes. With NASCAR using laser technology to determine the tolerances on chassis and body, where is there any room for ingenuity ? These cars are as technicaly identical as the bumper cars on the board walk and oh yes the paint and decals are how you tell them apart.

Johanna Long - out of Pensacola - had a GREAT run going. She kind of got lost in the shuffle during pit stops, though, because of an inexperienced team. She ran inside the top five/ten until those pit stops, and got moved back to just outside the top 15. She was riding along OK, until she ran out of RF on a long green-flag run and pounded the fence.
ESPN was saying that that tema only has seven full-time employees. She qualified fifth and hung with the leaders for a while. Hated to see her crash out. At least they interviewed her after she was out. Ol' DJ even mentioned that it was no easy feat to beat the best short track Late Model guys at the Snowball Derby when she won it.

After the bad pit stop ESPN commentators said that she was turning laps faster than race leader Kevin Harvick. She also passed Richmond Ace Denny Hamlin on her early run up into the top five. All with an underfunded team. While she was charging up into the top five Danica was floundering around 19th with the best equipment money can buy...
