Hey Gary, I got one set of rules that I sent to Rick Williams of FUPS and Scott Jackman of the old Southern Sportsman Series that a bunch of RACERS agreed upon at the dead Sportsman Challenge Series meetings. They allow both the "little" and "big" clutches and make EVERYONE legal EVERYWHERE with a little weight difference. It would be great if they could use them for a Series AND adopt them as the Sportsman rules for ALL the tracks. We'd all benefit. See you at Orlando brother!

I can see where it would be very frusstrating for you guys to be changing you're car every time you want to race a diff track. patrick i saw what you have to do to race you're car at 3 diff tracks total bs, gary I also agree with not wanting to change you're clutch for one race, This would be my suggestion bring you're rule book, practice, time trial or heats, and see how the cars stack up against each other for this one race, i think that a little weight added or took a way here and there would not be a big deal. Ihope this race can pull30 cars and set the stepping stone for a future series for you cats good luck. BTW my money is on morris lol

I was thinkin about comin to orlando to run. Whats the valve spring rule on crate motors i hear you can run a diffrent spring than stock here also what gear do you run with crate motor what rpms also.

Fascar used to allow a different valve spring, but I believe it now says it must be stock out of the crate.

As far as the gear goes, you will need to run between a 5.43 to a 5.67 with a crate, and a 5.83 to 6.20 with a built motor.

Get those cars ready, and let me know if anybody needs anything, lets make this thing HUGE.

You can run the comp cams 981-16 valve springs for the 602 crate motor at fascar tracks. I have a box seting in front of me. This was from tech when I asked them earlier this year.

If anybody has any questions about tech I would suggest calling Barbara Pierce @ (407) 568-1367 at the track or @ (321) 239-3370 on her cell. Ask her for the phone number for the tech guy who I believe is Rusty Crews (great name) . They have been very accomodating as of late with Sportsman. I agree with Patrick, lets pack the joint and show 'em how strong a Sportsman field can be. If you haven't run Orlando yet you gotta try it. It's my favorite track to drive. Even if you're planning on running another track on that Saturday, you can still run Orlando on Friday. Set up is near the same as Citrus and the gear is the same for Desoto.

Remember this race is coming up this Friday! If you have any questions call the track. They are being very accomodating in letting all the cars run. If you have a Sportsman come race! If you're a fan come watch! It's gonna be a great show!
