It is sold by Southern Race Fuels. The same company that provides Racing Fuel to most of the tracks in FL. I believe this is the stuff that Citrus has been using in the second lane to improve the side-by-side racing there. Just about every track could use this to improve racing, create a more exciting show and keep drivers from tearing up cars by "rooting" each other off the bottom. It works!

Saw the crew spraying the outside groove at Show Time saturday nite...I assume this is what they were putting down.The mod race was awesome side by side racing

Good Move

That's awesome Kendo. I went to Showtime a few weeks back and it was real one groove. Was wondering how many weeks it was gonna take before the patience was gonna wear out and people would start wrecking each other to pass. Great move on Yoho's part. Every track should be using this stuff in my opinion. Real race fans like door-to-door racing, not wrecks.

It was great 2 groove bumper to bumper racing,but it did not prevent them from wrecking each other About 12 mods left at the checkered with 25 starters.

I think that's just the nature of Modified racing. Lol. Very rarely do you see a clean Mod race, especially when there's a big money purse up for grabs. Everywhere they race, those guys are very tough on each other. I'm sure Yoho will address that at the next event. He's on top of that sort of behavior.

Tracks don't need to spend any money on some goop. Prior to opening the track for practice, go out in the corners and put cones/pylons a lane out from the bottom. Tell the drivers to run their hot laps *above* the cones. Lays down some real rubber, not some "fake" goopy stuff.

Worked for years at several tracks.

Or at least get a sweeper and clean the track once in a while, its terrifying going high at some of these tracks because the marbles are so bad, its amazing what sweeping it once in a while will do.

Plus at times many of us would intentionally practice on the high side if we knew a large car count was going to be in our class that night.

Promotes this type of racing.....hence the side by side starts. He also says in the drivers meetings to take " care" of it on the track. The mods are normally a smart and somewhat clean class. You dont do much rubbing with open tires unless you want to end up on your lid. There are alot of cars coming out of the wood work and some " weapons " as well. The stuff that Yoho has been putting on his track was the same stuff he treats the drag strip with. Sat. he tryed a powder with a liquid sprayed on top.........??? He was given the info on the stuff that citrus uses and has yet to purchase. Citrus does not apply this stuff all the time. i believe Critter only applied it twice but not certain. The stuff he uses works well and lasts a long time. I do like the idea of the cones but im not sure the asphault the state used is letting the rubber stay down. Seems like it comes off as quickly as its applied. D Miller

Ha ha, I used to do the same thing. I didn't really feel like it was practicing if I was just going as fast as I could using the fastest line around the track..Unless we were qualifying that night

Years ago Mike Peters at Ocala Speedway used a black treatment to the second groove in 1-2 and 3-4 turns. It worked very good for about 3 weeks if I remember. But if you ran the half line and strattled the treated area and non-treated, it got a little hairy.... We had 2 good lines tho..

Auburndale had a 100 LLM. race in 98. They put Rasin on the outside,for us it was a 3 wide road to the front. was a great 1500$ win for us. Dave and Howard 41
