  • I met the World's Rudest Race "Fans" Tonight at the ASA Race

The award for the rudest race "fans" I've ever met would be the family of this mid-pack driver:

    http://jessmattox.com/index.html

They (two females) persisted to stand in front of me for 75% of the race, blocking my view of turn 3 and when I politely asked them to sit down they flat out refused. After I politely asked them again to just move somewhere else if they refused to sit down so I could see Turn Three, the mother (I'm assuming) told me she was too nervous and wasn't going to sit. I asked her to go sit with the rest of the race team families along the back fence - no dice. Never mind the fact that they had infield wristbands and clearly had not paid for the seats directly in front of me.

Next time I'm at a track where people refuse to sit down I'm going to physically sit them down, damn the consequences. I'm sick and tired of rude race fans that don't care about anyone around them.

In my opinion, If a race track [or any other type of event] is going to sell you a seat that tells you where you have to sit, they should have some type of security!!! To pay to see something and not to be able to see it because of someone elses' bad manners is totally unacceptable. If they wouldn't sit down when you asked them to, then they shouldn't get mad when you dump your Coke on their head!!!!!

I would have just moved myself (more then likely the stands weren't full). The heck with appointed seats!

No to sound rude in any way, but, you met people (fans) just like yourself. They could have sat down...........you could have moved but both refused. People don't live in the world anymore they (we) live in our own little world ( the only thing that matters is me or what i'm doing ect, ect) and people wonder why there is roadrage and stabbings in line at burger joints.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

All one needs to do is make a mistake while driving in traffic to see how people respond to one another. This whole ''United We stand'' Statement is bulls_ _ t !

            Tripper,

Sorry to here that about the Mattox Family. We have raced with Jess and his family for many many years and when I saw that they got an ASA style car I was looking foward to racing with them again.

In Georgia a couple weeks ago at the ASA race The semi parked next to us along with us were ready to leave. There was a p/u with a sportsman car on an open trailer parked in front of us. After waiting with our trucks running for about 15 minutes I walked over and politely asked them if they could backup about 15 feet so we could get going because I had a 10 hr drive they answer with a flat out NO. When I asked why, they said they didn't get paid yet. Good 'ol Georiga hospitality.

I know if you sit next to my wife when Dustin is racing she won't be rude but you will need ear plugs.LOL

              same thing at daytona...

when everyone was sitting we could all see. everytime something exciting happened they all stood and no one in back of the first row could see anything but butts! same as when you bring your kids to a kid show. mom and dad sit in front of little children. if you see kids in back of you why not put your kids in front of them... it is just common courtesy... i always try to make sure a child in back of me can see whatever show we go to.

I paid for that specific seat, why should I move? They didn't pay for those seats, they had wristbands. Half of that family's members had the good sense to go watch where no fans were sitting.
