because you are dq'd doesn't mean you are cheating intentionally. we were dq'd 2 races ago for left side weight it was right at the shop, right in pre tech and wrong after the race to this day i don't know why it was wrong but beleive me i moved lead and was not going to get dq'd again. weather it is people pushing the left side rule or another rule the good cars are all close enough we are all looking for an advantage. the guys up front are not going to knowingly cheat in such an obvious place knowing they have to make it through Ricky tech. on the carb deal if it was a limited spec motor with an old carb some of those carbs would not pass the gauges(i have one if anyone is looking for one) but don't know what motor carb they had.

That sounds like me when Nerone DQ'd me for fuel cell 1/4 too low.

Long time ago................and still like Don.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

        What category ?

Cheating is having a big motor, or the wrong set of heads , or too big of a cam .

Being illegal is having too much left side weight , or too light overall , or a measurement discrepency caused by action on the track .

But they both fall under the umbrella of disqualification .

I've been DQ'd before but if you aren't pushing the limits of the rules as far as you can you will be behind. No doubt.

Thanks for the input Rusty as that was exactly what happened with carb and that's why I posted about people being called cheaters when in fact it was a manufacturer issue. The funny part is the older carb is actually smaller than the one you can run now.

Petty said there were only 2 kinds of racers...who knows what they were
                cheaters and losers!

He explained later that he did not really mean cheaters in the sense taken, but in the gray area.

Edit: Forgot to mention, my buddy, Donnie Lewis DQ'd me one night too. I fought lika a dog over that, but I was really wrong. I interpreted the rules correctly, but wrong. Don really helped me out on that one. I did not get any money though.

If Donnie dq's someone, you can bet they are wrong.

Well he disqualified me once many years ago at Orlando, and I was NOT wrong. He did it as a personal vendetta against me for someone else.

Donnie let me "slide" on something years ago that was blatantly illegal(because I was a Ford man). 15 years later he got even and busted me on something that I had no idea was wrong! Ironic.

Must have been a long tine ago (sorry). Some time after a tq guy hears enough crying about go buy the rules they act wrong like i have in the past..Dqed all the street stocks at desoto speedway one night . Every one of them (26 cars) were crying about the oyher one. They got to us and we tqed them till we found somethine wrong.
It was not right but they started to race and not cry to us every week. sorry for that one also.
I had a carb deal with holly years ago. they changed the buster size on the 4412 carb.
we dqed and had to pay out over $1,000 un back pay for thatone. I did the reasearch and made the compasion my self but noone rembers that one.
I never liked to do anyone and tryed to give everyone a chance because those mistakes are hard to eat at times.
Still there are racers that think i screwed them as they say.in the tq aera.. O well grow up shut up and race..
Benny agin dont rember that one (sorry)I was young but that was a long time ago...
