top 10 to draw

10 is way to many to pick pils or invert., for a small track like that the max invert should be 6!!!!! there will be plenty of action to keep the fans involved if you dont invert any there.....

I don't think it is an invert. Normally the top 10 qualifiers each have a chance to pull there starting position within the top 10.
I heard last Saturday that 28 drivers had already commited to running the race.

IT don't matter how they start, Invert the whole field, or start them straight up. All I no is as FAN, THERE PAYING 4,000 TO WIN AND 600 TO START they should come out of the wood's for this race, it should be a hell of a show, besides it's a race for a former racer to honor him. So I will buying a ticket and supporting this event. Hat's off to KEVIN MACY and every one else for there effort to make this race happen GOOD JOB

But please remember the less you invert, the more cars will be running at the end of the race, and I think that will make the fans enjoy it more. If you invert the whole field, you may only have 5-10 cars left at the end. Sometimes you have to look at the big picture. Start them straight up!!! Or max, and I mean max invert 6!!!

Sarcasm aside, I have to disagree with the idea that racers can't pass without knocking each other out. Even at a tough track like Auburndale, some drivers can get it done, and that is what the fans want to see.

The very WORST thing they could do is start them straight up. How about another concept the rest of the country gets, but not Florida.... HEAT RACES. Time trials SUCK, and they kill a show. The ONLY race of the year that should have them is the Governors Cup. Funny how Sprint cars run heats everywhere they go, bit the fans need to suffer through qualifying for Street Stocks and Mini's.... BORING...!

How's this for a concept.... random draw as you pull in, 3 heat races of 12 laps each, then line them up in the position they EARNED by RACING for it.

Did I mention qualifying SUCKS. Why does every single Tom, Dick and Harry race of 35 laps or more need this moronic race procedure...???

Sorry, but I find heat races to be boring, all the heat races I have seen, except for last chance races, drivers do not and will not push there cars to the limit. Heat races are a waste of time and money. So if a driver quilifies 1st or second, he has not earned anything by doing that?? that is crazy. Heat races are a waste of time, cost the racer money, and are boring as hell.....just my opinion

It seems you just like to see cars go fast in a circle. I prefer to see them RACE... which means passing other cars. Not gonna happen this way.

I think you have the wrong idea of the purpose of heat races. They should be used as the way of determining the feature line-ups. It works best at weekly tracks that start the best cars in back, but need to finish up front in order to get a decent starting spot in the feature.

Heat races MAKE racers race hard, and use the outside lane. I'd much rather see a Wayne Anderson, Jeff Scofield or Jeff Choquette start 9th in a heat, finish 4th, start the feature 12th, and race up from there. Putting any of them on the pole will also see them lead the whole way and win.... woohoo, what a thrill.

When every drivers efforts are focused on qualifying well, they will only use the preferred line. How is anybody going to pass when every car is set up to run the exact same groove?

Most racers will jump outside and make shit happen... most DRIVERS will just dump the car ahead of him.

As for "waste of money".... you don't the see separate practice day, and several practice sessions as a "waste of money"...? Dirt racers get VERY little practice, and they only pay 1 night of expense for 1 night of racing. These LM shows have TWICE the costs, for a single race night. You don't see THAT as a "waste of money"...?

Frasson.....I agree totally with you!!! Heat races are the way to go. Fans want to see passing and racing, same with the drivers!
