A few good memories of Bobby Coyle.

During his most successful years (there were many of these), Bobby had long and wavy blonde hair and a fancy fire suit. His cars were beautiful and flashy, so he cut quite the image of a dashing racing star. I took a lot of girls on dates to the track, and I think I caught every one of them checking out Bobby. Usually more than once!

Recently I watched the video of the Hialeah Speedway reunion in November, 2010. There is a great interview of Bobby where he reflects on his years in the sport, his friends, fans and his competitors. He is really good in front of a camera, and I remember thinking what a good ambassador he is for our racing. Here is a guy who raced and won for a long time, yet he didn't collect the blemishes that so many do. He has always been the good guy, always "the hero with the white hat", and I admire him for keeping it together like that.
