I agree, I think he is tring to get JGR to pony up for a new team that is owned by Tony. My guess - he will get it.

My guess says Tony stays at JGR until Home Depots contract is up (same time as his driver contract), and then he takes HD with him to a new team, that he will have majority ownership of.

Tony is too smart to let HD spend a year getting aligned with another driver... and face it, there aren't many deep pockets like Home Depot. Also, I see Chevy getting back in the Stewart camp.

You know, I didn't think of it that way. That does make sense. If it wasn't for Mikey and NAPA, I would disagree but they stood by him, even after the year he had last year. Tony has really calmed down [attitude] the last couple of years and he's shown on TV more than Mikey. HHHMMMMMM.................
Is it to late to change my opinion?

Stewart was at NSS Wednesday testing for this weekends race. You would think a guy who owns a couple of race teams would realize how big a headache it is to try and do the whole owner/ driver thing... Could be a negotiating tool to get more "play dates" with his sprints & late model out of Joe Gibbs.

My feeling is that Tony is going to buy controlling interest in Haas CNC. This will allow him to rebuild the team with people of his choice, he will retain the support from Hendrick while returning to Chevrolet.
