  • Urgent prayers are needed

Many of you know my friend Julie. She had a stem cell transplant last year for bone marrow cancer. We thought everything was fine now but two weeks ago, her white count went to 0 and the cancer is back. She has been in the hospital for two weeks having even more intensive chemo and will know Thursday if she needs more or what. But she has decided against another stem cell transplant since the last one was so hard and failed and everyone in her group that had one has either gotten worse or another form of cancer.

Please keep Julie in your prayers. She is questioning why God does not love her but I have tried to reassure her that it is not her nor anything she has done so bad in her life to make her go thru this again. All I can do at this point is be there to hold her hand and tell her I love her and things will be okay. Heck, she is still here and that is a good thing.

I know how much this board hates prayer requests but there are alot of you with great belief in prayers and we need that right now. She is my oldest friend since I came back to Florida and there is nothing that I would not do for her including asking for prayers on this board.

Julie has always wanted to go on a cruise to Alaska and for her 50th birthday, her husband surprised her and booked them on one in July. Now, she may not get to go but it can be rescheduled at a higher cost but my biggest wish for her is that she does get to go. That she does get to do one of those things on her list that she has always wanted but did not expect to do, she does deserve that. Even when she has felt the worse, she has always been there for me and me for her. So please, if you can, add Julie O'Connor to your prayers.

    Thank you.

Jane, I have added your friend Julie to my prayer list and even asked my mom to do the same. I strongly believe in lifting each other up in prayer even more than ever after my little scare in March.

I too have several prayer request. My son has lost quite a bit of weight something he did not need to have happen because he didn't weigh much anyways. As I am writing this I am waiting to hear from his doctors if he has something else wrong with him besides Type 1 diabetes. On top of that we are dealing with my husband's grandparents (his mom's parents) who have lived a full life but are not in good health. She has Alzheimers and hospice has been brought in. She sleeps most of the time and we have been told to start making other arrangments. He has been diagnosed with melanoma cancer and must go through radiation therapy for at least 7 weeks 5 days straight. He does not want to leave her side and is making things difficult.

My son is my biggest fan and also video tapes my races for me.

        Jane

Julie has been on my prayer list for a while. I was still praying, as of this morning that it was in remision, and will continue to pray even more fervent.
At the risk of raising the IRE of some on here, the next time you see Julie read James 5:15-16 to her that should encourage her. Also Jeremiah 29:11,12,13. Keep me posted Jane. Thanks Bob..........

To Jane & Cara and all people on this board who believe in the power of prayer...

Jane and Cara.... your loved ones will surely be in my thoughts and prayers.
Please do not ever apologize for believing in and trusting us to pray for our friends and loved ones. I personally am proud to talk about and trust in the Lord. If anyone chooses not to listen then don't read my posts!

Dear God !...I humbly ask you to bless and keep Julie and Caras son with us and in good health.
Please let them know you are with them now and thru eternity...I know there are times when we think our prayers are not answered. This is the time you need to bring your children home to help you or to take away their pain.. during this time we are so sad and our hearts are empty. Don't let us forget this is temporary and we will soon be reunited with those we love. shine your light on them in their darkest hours and give their families the strength to help them through this painful time ... I ask this in love through your son Jesus Christ. Thank you & Amen!!!!

Cara - please keep me informed on your son. My prayers are with you and your family that all will get better.

As for me, this has kindof knocks the socks off me and I am in a difference place right now. We really thought she had beat this for now and when this happened, it was so unexpected. I am doing my best to keep her spirits up when mine are so far down. It is hard but I have to do it for Julie because there is always hope and that is what we need to cling to. She keeps thinking she has done something very bad in life to have to keep going thru this but she hasn't. It would really help if she had more than just her husband behind her since her sister can't help sickness and is so help and her other sister long ago when she found out she had bone marrow cancer, told her she hoped she died. She also has a brother but has not heard one word from him since their mother died and I was with her then. Since I only have one brother and would die for him, I can't understand families who do not come together and support their sister.

But thank you all for adding Julie to your prayers because she is a good person and really needs them. I can't thank you enough for caring since no one in her family seems to give a hoot what happens to her. Trying to take their places is hard but she needs love and people who care and that is why I am there no matter what.

Thank you to both Carol and Jane.

I received a phone call today from one of the nurses at the doctor's office. They had just received his lab work and his doctor was off for the day. They had put Chris's lab results on his desk and hopefully will know something either Thursday or Friday. Once again no sleep until I know for sure if it is from the medication for his acne or something else. Hopefully he will be off his acne meds within the next month. His face has cleared up so much he looks like a different person.

As soon as I know something I will let everyone know.

Jane, I can attest to families desertion tactics. My family ios kinda disfunctional too. I have 1 brother out of 4 that is a christian and cares. The others would care less. Hold on to Jeremiah 29:11, God has a plan.

Cara, I have put your son on my prayer list also, keep us updated. Thanks Bob..............

                  Update!!!

The power of prayer is awesome!!!!!

Just got off the phone with the doctor and except for high chlorestrol everything came back in Chris's report looking good. They were very concerned with his kidneys and liver but they looked great. They want to start him on something for the chlorestrol but a low dose and hopefully it will come down. I told the doctor he gets it from both side of the family because now both my hubby and I have high chlorestrol. We watch what we eat but even our parents have high chlorestrol too. We are working on becoming more active to see if they would help.

Thank you for praying for Chris.

Julie went back into the hospital, she had to have platelets, her's were all gone. We find out Thursday what to do next but she is totally against another stem cell transplant.

Julie asked me to thank everyone for the prayers, they are greatly appreciated and help her alot during these very dark hours.

                      Thank You
