Orlando Speedworld - Canceled 6/29/12
The Orlando Speedworld - Oval Track has canceled racing for Friday 6/29/12 due to severe weeping as a result of Tropical Storm Debby. OSW Race Director Butch Pierce stated that there is a steady stream of water running down the track after several days of non-stop rainfall. “It is just not safe to put cars on the track.” said Pierce, “and with a limited schedule we sure don’t want to tear any cars up unnecessarily due to a wet racetrack.”
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s understanding that this call had to be made in the interest of safety for our competitors.
As for the Sportsman 50 lap race, Officials are currently reviewing the schedule to see if a make-up date is possible.
The next scheduled race at Orlando Speedworld will be on Friday July 13th with a Mini-Stocks 50, Strictly Stocks 35, along with Super Late Models, Super Stocks, Legends and Bandoleros.
